Bomgaars has this kit on sale for 149, they also offer 50 mail-in rebate. (never tried rebate before). free pickup in local store. shipping cost is only $5 for me (YMMV). if the rebate works it seems to be a great deal for 80V pro line

The rebates work good but of course rebates are only good for store purchases...rebates usually take 3 weeks

To give you a real answer - yes and no. They're still just their 80V batteries - but they're marketed as 82V and the rails are different; therefor you cannot use 82V batteries in an 80V platform or vise versa. It's a weird strategy - Greenworks is sort of odd that way. They have 24V, 40V, 60V, 80V and the 82V commercial marketed line.
This is also a good deal IMO. It'll cost you more to get a refurb 80V from their website (Which I ironically just bought) and with this you get two batteries and a dual bay charger; meaning you can bring both batteries with you and knock out a solid sized job without any charging.

Thanks for clarifying that. I have 80v Pro tools and might have bought this just for the batteries.

If you're not worried about compatibility with other 80 volt greenworks tools, this is probably the better deal.
But if you're trying to stay in the 80 volt ecosystem Costco has had the trimmer, blower combo with a 3Ah battery and charger for 200 bucks recently.
YMMV as it was in stock at one store and not the other near me.

The compatibility is important to me as I mainly use the 21" mower. I don't need/want the other tools and two 2.5ah batteries for $99 is great. I don't have a Bomgaars near me though and just realized the rebate is only In Store credit.

Bizarre that they would make 82v system alongside the 80v.

They market them to lawn Care professionals, my guess is they needed a way to divide the consumer/pro devices and the support they offer for each?
