I've lost count of how many of these no-name Chinese ebikes there are. It seems like every YouTuber out there is shilling for one. The vast majority will be e-waste and destined for the landfill within 1-2 years. There will be no parts availability and no support after that time. The company will have disappeared, while several new, fly-by-night companies will pop up to take its place. Knowing their products are garbage and only designed for the short term, this is how they avoid any liability. Try suing a Chinese company that no longer exists.
THESE ARE ILLEGAL IN CALIFORNIA. In California, pedals alone don't make it legal. Motor power and mph is what you need to consider. The following classes are the only ones permitted on public roads. Class 1 E-Bikes: These are pedal-assist bikes with no throttle. The motor provides assistance only when the rider is pedaling, and this assistance stops when the bike reaches 20 mph. Class 2 E-Bikes: Equipped with a throttle, these bikes can propel the rider without the need for pedaling up to 20 mph. Class 3 E-Bikes: These are pedal-assist bikes without a throttle. The motor provides assistance only when the rider is pedaling, with the assistance stopping at 28 mph. California limits the maximum motor power of all e-bikes to 750 watts. These are pretty much ILLEGAL in California. Class 1 & 2 E-Bikes: You can use bike lanes and paths pretty much everywhere. Some places may allow you on sidewalks, but check local rules. Class 3 E-Bikes: You can use bike paths if local laws say so, but mostly, you'll be riding on roads and bike lanes. Sidewalks? Not unless the city says it's cool.
Just another line item to add to the long list of why California should fall into the ocean.
Attitudes like this is why we see this behavior. Normalize fathers raising their kids with discipline.
I do my friend. More than you could realize. But the reality is there tons of kids without father's, and quite frankly without many of the things you obviously grew up with if you have this as your take based on what I said...
I wish the achievable life for everyone was the fantasy land you envision possible.
A) the person I responded to who asked "can I also get some exercise on this one too? "
B) Me. I have a bad knee. Biking is good exercise because there's no ground impact but if I push it too hard I can get stuck somewhere.
C) Family members with chronic illnesses/medicines that make them prone to over heating.
So I ride with the motor disabled most of the time except on the three hills near my house I know will hurt me or after I've pushed too hard on the occasional 15+ mile ride.. My relatives ride with PAS1, which on our bikes is ~9mph but we tend to cruise around at 10-12mph, so on flat land they do all the work and motors help them on all the hills.
When their cheap starter ebikes die, I'm going to get them torque-sensor bikes which let you set an "effort multplier".

Pedaling something like this, without adjustable seat height, is going to be absolutely terrible for your knees.

Armenia is a very poor country being land locked with virtually no domestic energy and harsh terrain with little arable land, far poorer than the US average, and yet they have virtually non-existent crime and and the kids are not acting out. Zero tolerance culture there clearly works.
Kids will be kids... Many have a rebellious nature, and the future we have for them is not very bright currently. So they will be rebellious, riding recklessly on this is better than countless other things they could or would be doing.. they could be in a car doing it which would be more dangerous..
Kids will be kids? They're injuring and/or killing themselves and others due to how unsafe and unregulated these things are. Five seconds on YouTube will show you how bad it is. Educate yourself before embarrassing yourself further.

An utterly ringing endorsement.
"It is too shoddily built to break the law like the spec sheet says it can."
