Anyone that uses phillips #2 bits a lot, do you prefer the 3.5" ones that was in earlier deal or these 1"? Curious of the advantage/disadvantage of either. Are the 3.5" just better for sinking or unscrewing a screw sunk deeper into the wood?

The longer bits are generally more convenient for screw removal rather than application. They are great for getting to screws that have been buried, for sure.

If you're inserting screws you're often going to want a magnetic bit extension, and one of those 3.5" bits inserted into a ~2" or longer bit extension makes for awkward/wobbly drilling.

You should also note that these are a P2R bit (instead of the standard P2), they're more specialized, and can be a looser fit with some common phillips screws. I like using them with drywall screws, primarily, but will use a standard P2 for a lot of other stuff.

I use the 1" insert bits with a wera or milwaukee locking bit holder 99% of the time, but I also keep a 3.5" Ph2 in a slip pocket on every work bag, because there are those occasions where reach is required, including recesses in certain hardware.

My preference for 1" is primarily concerns for space and weight in my very compact installation bag. I carry an assortment of about 40 bits and use the entire range.

I bought the 3.5" 10 pack, which could last me 5 years or more. I'll buy a 50 or 100 pack of ph2 bits every year. I'm not hard on bits, but even with good technique, they are a wear item.

Depends what tool you are putting the bits into. If directly into a 1/4 impact or similar, the longer bits work best as the 1" bits are too short and often recessed into the tool. If putting into a quick change bit tool, get the length that best meets your application (having both is a nice option)
