I'm seeing 14% are 1 star reviews. There is a starter coil replacement video in the product page (strange). When I saw them open the top, it was just one big piece of plastic inside. Great price, but passing this one.

I bought a 2006 self propelled Honda this year for $25. I put $130 into it. It runs and cuts top notch.

I had a black one that they dont make anymore apparently, it's a beast and used it to push mow an acre for a couple years but gave it to my brother.

Are these newer models better? Ive owned 3 mowers since and none compare to the power smart. only issue it had was you had to prime it even when warmed. rear wheel, weight and speed were perfect.

I have a non-drive similar PowerSmart w/bag and it has been a great mower for trimming places my Zero-Turn can't get. Paid like ~$149 on sale 7 years ago and it's still going strong. Oil changes and using ethanol free gas has made all the difference. These are NOT heavy duty machines but with care they hold up decently.

Stay away from it, I got one last week, the engine burns oil, hard to start, the self propelled stop working after the first use and it's not returnable.

I bought a Powersmart DB2194S a few years ago. I liked the powered wheels, it made going up and down a lot easier. After a few years, it conked out and I replaced the carb. Later, I cleaned the carb and it was running fine. But then both the run cable and the power wheel cables broke. I replaced the run cable, and it works okay again, but the power wheel cable is a mystery to repair. So I have a mower that runs, but won't pull itself.

When I tried to find information on the cable for the wheel assist, the information from the manufacturer had a diagram that did not show how the cable and the drive worked. It was really blurry bad and missing some important parts.

So I give the company Powersmart acceptable marks for their product doing most of the job, but failing at doing everything that they promised, that is a self-powered lawnmower.

My advise is to consider this lawnmower as any other push type and expect that you may have to replace the cables after a couple years because they will rust and break on you.

You have to shut gas off and run the carb dry at the end of every mowing season if you want to keep carb from plugging up. Don't blame the mower, blame the owner if carb gets plugged.

This is a great price for a new 21" self-propelled mower. I've had very good luck with B&S engines that take a beating and keep running, but never tried Powersmart, I wonder how they hold up.

Yea, look at that, it's not returnable. Bummer. It would have been funny wheeling it through Kohl's to return it.
