FWIW, this is a ridiculously nice pack for $15. A few features I discovered after receiving it that I hadn't clued in one when I pulled the trigger:
- Accessory rain cover that stows in a bottom compartment
- Separate zippered lower compartment for a (small) sleeping bag. It features a zip out horizontal divider so you can make the interior one continuous compartment if you want.
- A single aluminum frame stay to help transfer some of the weight from the shoulder harness to the hip belt. It comes pre-bent in an S-curve, but it's removable if you want to custom fit it to your spine.
- In addition to being hydration bladder compatible, the main pack also features 2 side pockets that are both gussetted and elasticized to accommodate different sized waterbottles.
- All the major internal seams are bound with bias tape - a sign of quality.
The detachable day pack is a little gimmicky - but I plan on treating it as a large exterior accessory pocket for lightweight, bulky items - rain jacket, fleece vest etc. Red wouldn't have been my first color choice but at least it's not fire engine red - more of a restrained, almost burgundy color.Sign up for a Slickdeals account to remove this ad.
