The Galaxy S22+ is a compact flagship that still has useful performance, a good screen, DeX, and USB C video out, which makes it handy for travel media, light desktop use, or even retro gaming. Battery life is the biggest strength and weakness split in the comments, ranging from a solid day or more to very short runtimes, with fast charging helping some setups. Heat, freezing, antenna problems, and screen burn in or green screen concerns also come up, and the refurbished listing appears to offer no warranty. It looks best for buyers who want the hardware features and can live with the risk on condition and longevity.
Common Questions (5)
Battery life is often reported as a weak point: some say it lasts a full day or more with light use, while others say it won't make it through the day and can die in under 4 hours. Fast charging helps, but heavy use and heat can make the battery feel much worse.
Yes, overheating and performance issues are a recurring concern, especially with the Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 and in hot weather or gaming. Reports include freezing, lag, and the phone running hot enough to become unusable, though some users say their units have been fine for normal use.
Android updates are expected through early 2027, with Google Play Store security patches continuing for years after that. That means the phone should stay usable for mainstream apps, but it is near the end of its major update window.
Several comments say these eBay "refurbished" units are effectively used phones unless the seller clearly lists actual repairs or replaced parts. The practical warning is to expect a basic wipe/reset and condition that can range from lightly used to heavily worn, with accessories possibly third-party.
The listing explicitly says the phones have moderate scratches/scuffs and screen burn-in, so burn-in is part of the described condition rather than just a possibility. That makes it a risky buy if you want a backup phone or care about display defects.

Not 'may have' but 'have'. I don't care about scuffs, but any burn-in would be a deal breaker. Was considering this for a backup phone, but tough call chancing any sort of screen damage. The S22 also was notorious for the green-screen issue, which I'd presume falls under 'burn in' here.

As in, garage sale used. If a place says "refurbished", but doesn't explicitly say what they've done -- then all they've performed is a power test, a wipe down of the casing, and a system reset.
No components have been replaced, no batteries refreshed, etc. In other words, nothing has been actually refurbished.
Descriptors such as "Very Good" or "Excellent" or "Open Box" are meaningless and vague enough to suggest pretty much anything. Don't be surprised if they sneak in machines that really ought to be in a lower tier. Assume any accessories (power supply, cabling, etc) are third-party or counterfeit.
You might get a device that's a corporate lease that's been babied on a lined desk for 3-4 years....or a beat-up road warrior mobile. Sight unseen. Good luck.
