Probably the worst phone I've ever owned. I would stay away from this phone, major performance and overheating issues.

S22 has the worst battery life of all Samsung

Community Reviews

The Galaxy S22+ is a compact flagship that still has useful performance, a good screen, DeX, and USB C video out, which makes it handy for travel media, light desktop use, or even retro gaming. Battery life is the biggest strength and weakness split in the comments, ranging from a solid day or more to very short runtimes, with fast charging helping some setups. Heat, freezing, antenna problems, and screen burn in or green screen concerns also come up, and the refurbished listing appears to offer no warranty. It looks best for buyers who want the hardware features and can live with the risk on condition and longevity.

Nah, it's a good chip and the battery life issue is overstated. I used the S22+ for 2 years and it was always a 1 day+ phone for me.
Just upgraded to an Oppo Find X9 Pro. Now I'm replacing the battery in my s22+ as a multimedia device for traveling since it has dex and USB c video out.

The specs of this device blow out all the a-line models of Samsung tablets for the same price.

I have been using this phone on AT&T since it's release and have had no issues. That being said it doesn't get heavy use.

The Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 was manufactured by Samsung, and Qualcomm has not commissioned Samsung to produce chips since then.
The Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 is a chip to avoid.
no idea what you are talking about. S22 used Exynos 2200.

Security updates stop in early 2027 if I recall. I have a s22 ultra and it's been good, just wish it would get updates longer.
The android updates run for 5 years, so you are correct it will continue to get those until early 2027. However, Google manages OS level security patches through the Play Store which will continue running for many years on that version of android. As long as youre using mainstream apps and not sideloading anything, the phone will be safe for a very long time. The kinds of security patches that come from the core os patches are things like local root issues via USB, which are important for a few reasons but of no practical concern for people afraid of malware or other remote 'hacks'

This is by far the worst phone I've ever had. It lags when hot and I mean barely hot. Out in this summer heat it just freezes. I tried rebooting everything and same thing happens. Even my s20 was outperforming it. When I moved up to the s26 ultra. Night ans day difference. To be expected but still my s20 was outperforming this s22+ garbage. It only makes sense if you are buying to trade it in.
Toaster.

4 generation old junk.

I agree with s22 Ultra. Really horrible performance eventually antenna or some other major malfunction within 3rd year would not lock on a signal and would send all calls to VM or claim it's not registered. Known issue with 22 ultra can't imagine 22+ be any better.
Same here, S22 Ultra was the worse phone I ever owned. Antennas went kaput in little over a year. I replaced them and in six months same problem again. Done with Samsung, bought a Pixel.

Any opinion on the condition of the phone? The reviews on ebay for the item are generally good, but have some bad reviews.
I'd suggest the S23. Its a huge update over the 22, particularly battery life.

I got this phone new 5 years ago and I am trying to use it as retro handheld machine with gamesir controller. It outperforms any retro handheld machine in the price range and screen quality is still good. Only cons is that it is much bigger than such devices.
