Would these be good for general work and walking by or also hiking?
I've worn them all day for the last few days. I don't spent a lot of time on my feet but got my 6000 steps in. They were comfy enough to working/walking. Being slip-ons they aren't suitable to hike up a mountain nor would you want to. The treads are too soft, the fit too lose and they're way too nice looking for serious hiking.

That tread is way too aggressive for me, for an everyday/casual shoe. Look more like hiking or trail shoes.
They're actually very soft to walk in and you don't notice the tread. The tread is actually 2 different materials. The dark black sections are harder rubber while the lighter grey sections are softer EVA Foam. I question how durable the EVA part will be long-term but after wearing them for a few days now I have not noticed the tread like I do with hiking boots.

Good to know and repped for your input.
I walk off-pavement daily for short times, feeding ferals, so mainly, I would not enjoy getting the dirt out from between the treads, regardless of comfort. I'd have to use some shoe covers for these.

You are in luck. I just got home from a walk at a lake park near my house. It had rained a couple hours ago and the trail is gravel and dirt. I did about 4.5 miles. Here's what the bottoms looked like after. It didn't look like any more than my other walking shoes would have picked up. I'll let you judge if it's soo much.

I was a big fan for their comfort and wide fit, but has been so disappointed with how soft, spongy and not durable the soles have become in the last 2 years especially during summer times and in hot climates. Comparing newer to older ones they definitely have foam, not rubber in sole and it has severely impacted durability/stability of soles.
