Community Reviews

This OmniBook 3 17.3 inch laptop stands out mainly for its large screen and efficient Core Ultra 7 platform, which should help with battery life and everyday use. The 16 gigabytes of memory and 512 gigabyte SSD give it a solid baseline for general productivity. The display is a weak point, with 62.5 percent sRGB coverage and a 1920 by 1080 resolution that feels low for a 17 inch panel. It also has no dedicated graphics card, soldered memory, and repeated hinge concerns, so it is better suited to basic work than gaming or heavy upgrades.

Common Questions (4)

  • Not well for gaming: it has no dedicated graphics card, and the integrated graphics are described as weak for games. It may handle only very light titles, while more demanding games need a stronger CPU/GPU combo such as a Ryzen HS model with 780M graphics.

  • The display is reported at 62.5% sRGB, which points to poor color coverage and likely a low-quality panel. Its 17.3-inch size also makes the 1920 x 1080 resolution feel low for the screen size, though the larger text can help older users.

  • Yes, hinge issues are a recurring concern for this model and similar large-screen laptops. The practical takeaway is to handle the lid carefully and check warranty or return coverage if hinge reliability matters to you.

  • No, the RAM is soldered, so it cannot be upgraded later. That makes it a poor choice if you want a laptop with replaceable memory.

Sitting having lunch about a mile away from a Best Buy that has them in stock. Will this do light gaming?

Specs are pretty terrible. The only thing justifying a "higher" price is the 17" screen

The color space is poor. Meaning it can only show 62.5% of the sRGB color space. It likely also means other aspects of the screen are poor, ie a cheap @ss screen.

It is also low resolution for a large screen. of course for older users that may be a boon, making the font and other aspects of formatting natively larger.

Probably a fine enough choice for a lot of users but I would not want it.

This questions gets asked often but you need to define 'light gaming' with titles. Some games can run on just about anything made and other titles some may think of as 'light gaming' would actually require a fairly good GPU/CPU combo.

Thsi can be researched easily online as well as any imbeded Ai can with reasonable accuracy tell you if this CPU/GPU can run X game if so about how well.

Google "______ hinge issues". Pretty much every brand has hinge issues, especially on lower end models with large screens.

Yeah and why should we stand for that?? Just because something is lower tier doesn't mean we should pay hundreds of dollars for it just to fall apart before the warranty and for them to not stand behind their warranty. (Ahem Lenovo)

Thanks for the heads up. No use in arguing specs if the whole laptop will fall apart.

this would be a good deal at 499 but like a lot of of the other comments the only thing that makes it worth more money is the bigger screen size however I love how it says $600 off because a $1200 this would have to be OLED I don't know who dreams the manufacturer suggested price but I don't think anybody has ever paid that well you know not anybody with their own money at least

My son is starting college this fall - school of business for actuarial science. Is this a good laptop for college classes? If not, can anyone direct me to an appropriate laptop? I'm clueless with this stuff…
