Never, I was saying that I bought the C400 no regrets because I needed the jumper capability. I would no doubt buy the jacket or the C600 if I didn't need the jumpers
Interesting. I was looking at the C400 and it seems much better option, including battery technology, than the Jackery for similar price. The jumpers are a nice touch too 😅

I say the jacket is better only because of what I am hearing about support etc. I actually really enjoy the C400 for light duty. Charging devices. The light is pretty cool too. I also own a C2000 Gen 2 and I love that as well.

Ended up going with the C400. At $105, it seems like a good device, excited to get it and give it a shot

No. This is going to have a choppy simulated sine wave not a true pure sine wave. This is not good for sensitive higher quality electronics on the tiny 100W outlet. Decent pure sine wave APC, CyberPower units are $100 to $150 with much higher watt/amp output .
the need for pure sine wave for "sensitive" electronics is urban legend not reality. It was born from a short period of years when power factor correction in computer power supplies was mis designed and not behaving properly with simulated sine wave UPSs (and they broke or went haywire). Nothing of modern decent design these days cares at all.

One of the top comments at Amazon said that this would be a better UPS than other, non-LFP battery types (like the lead acid ones from APC & Cyberpower).
Anyone agree?

EDIT: I primarily use my UPS for my gateway (modem/router).
Here's an excerpt from that Amzn comment.

...And the LiFePO4 battery with 3000+ cycle life, and the nature that is deep cycle, up to 90% effective usable range, vs. Li-ion at 60% (20% - 80% most useful range) and most metal batteries at 50% usable range. When you compare something like this (and it's sister models with more Wh) you'll see that a traditional UPS actually isn't as useful as this type of battery/system this device provides.

Let's take a UPS with VA1500, meaning about 488 Wh, but only 50% is truly effectively usable, and the cycle count is about 300-500, so no where close to as long lasting. So 488 * 50% =244 Wh effective efficiency useful. Take this with one of its big-brother models at 288 Wh (currently $140), multiply that by 90% = 259 Wh. And with 3000+ cycle count, that's about 10 times longer life and actually greater theoretical power.
you've made a lot of leaps of logic here. Lithium ion batteries have a 100% useful range for their capacity rating i.e. a cell that is rated for 3000mah will produce 3000mah of output across the voltage range of 3.0-4.2ish consuming all of the mean watt hours of 3*3.6V. That's why watt hours are rated that way. LIFEPO4 will behave the same way with a lower average voltage.

For how often a UPS is discharged the number of cycles is completely irrelevant.

The main thing you are missing in your analysis is the HUGE advantage of lead acid batteries: They can dump POWER. A 10-15C (capacity in Ah) amp draw is not problem for them. Meaning you can have a pair of standard 12V 7AH batteries and draw a KW from them. An equivalent sized LIFEPO4 battery at 12V 20AH would only be able to produce 250W of output (I am sure there are some better cells out there but the chemistry is inherently limited here).

That said. I am using LIFEPO4 backup batteries for low wattage devices like modems, routers, alarm systems, access control systems. But, a traditional lead acid UPS is still better for a desktop that is crunching or doing modest gaming at 300-500W or more.

Seconding this. I can't find the thread but when this went on sale before someone said it was modified sine. Fine for laptops, phone chargers, and lights. Bad for fans, heating pads or blankets, or any heating element.
the only thing that limits use with fans, heating pads, blankets, or "heating elements" is the wattage capacity and surge rating for fans or compressors or other inductive devices. simulated sine vs pure sine has nothing to do with it.

I had the same exact issue and just returned mine. Even we're not in use it was draining something like 5 to 7% every couple of hours
Damn, the good ones are like 4% per day

Good catch, thanks: "how often a UPS is discharged the number of cycles is completely irrelevant"

My main issue with the 2, low end, lead acid APCs that I've had in the past, is that they start giving me the occasional, loud, low power or dead battery alarm notifications after about 4 years of (barely any dead grid power) use. Then they seem to completely die about 2 years later.

Will an LFP UPS (like this post) have a longer life before dying completely?

PS - I got this rebadged APC in January for $45... because similar LFP options seemed to cost 2+ times more at the time. https://www.amazon.com/dp/B073Q48YGF

You're recommending the C400 over the Jackery?

Thank you for sharing the c400 link , went with a c600 instead for my camping needs but any codes available for the s2400 . That is one promising model for heavy use and currently no additional coupons available expect the standard 10% off.

This is dangerously incorrect and you need to delete your post before you spread actual harm. Modified sine will melt many current heating pad and electric blanket controllers and/or cause fires. What form of waveform distortion are we talking about here? Do you even know? Of course you don't, no one here knows how "DaranEner" designs their products or to what standards. There is no universal inverter and no universal electronic device like you allude to, that sounds like engineering idealism. You speak of decent design and yet you have no idea if that has happened with this non-brand. Confidently ignorant isn't a form of expertise. Don't spread dangerous misinformation.

I got one of these during a previous sale. it's the same brand and specs but seems to be a different model and listing. That's exactly what I use mine for. I keep it plugged in and plugged my router, modem and camera gateway into it using an outlet extender. Had a power outage for about 3 hours last month and it kept everything working without an issue.
