Costco item price by volume is slightly lower with non-microwavable, microplastic generating lids so I guess it depends on what you mean by a better deal. Better for wallet or better for health to consume food out of?
The Costco deal says they are oven safe to 950 degrees, which has to be a typo, right?

One day we will have a thread here on SD that isn't infiltrated by the Kirkland cult; but that day isn't today, sadly.
I was going to say IKEA. I buy my containers from there as they all share the same lid and if one breaks I can buy another. If you break the glass you can easily buy a replacement. This way you don't have to buy a whole set all over again. I have plastic, glass, and stainless steel rectangle containers. the price is about $2 for plastic, $4 for glass, and $5 for stainless steel I think. they are around that price. and the lid is $2.

Got this last time. The lids are plastic while containers are glass. Containers are solid and last years. But the lids start to crack after a year and the silicone in lids becomes brittle. Better to get the ones with a removable gasket and snap on airtight lids.

Feels like a better deal

The lid of* these Rubbermaid's also have plastic and rubber in it. Plus the description says only the bottom container is oven safe not the lid.So comparing apples to apples I feel Costco deal is better health and wallet wise!
Absolutely not. The Rubbermaid are night-and-day difference. The Costco set has numerous points of failure on those lids and you will see that those snaps will tear at the seams over time.

I tried them out in-store and they just don't compare to the Rubbermaid. The Brilliance are the absolute royalty of containers. Buy once and they last.

Rubbermaid Brilliance lids are fantastic if treated with care. They are very thoughtfully made.

Like another poster above mentioned, I also got in the on the promo during 2022 and have been using my 8 containers exclusively every couple of days for four years. No issues to report other than slight warping on the snap due to my caveman inability to fully close the lid.

Hate removable gaskets. They flop around and are a pain to reseal and harbour tons of bacteria. These Rubbermaid are made in such a way that you can easily clean them and they don't cause near to as much frustration.
