If you do this, be aware that a 7-quart dutch oven weighs about 17 pounds and takes up about a cubic foot of space. Not great for those lacking cupboard or counter space Big Grin

No. The worry about lead in no-name cast iron is overblown, and I'm not sure of a single bit of research that has shown lead in modern-day cooking pieces. Even then you have a protective enameled coating that protects your food from any trace amounts that might show up.

Usually an easy fix for someone handy. Gas stove 99% the igniter and an electric is probably a heating element, both of which can be found on dozens of websites and probably Amazon as well. People frequently give away working appliances on Facebook marketplace.
