If you want the coolest little mini projector that's about the size of a tall boy and can even run emulators with very little lag (must turn off the auto skewing feature for that), then this is a steal. Pending quality if the refurb of course.

200 lumens? That's nothing, but I guess this is battery powered and small, so that's how it goes.

Isn't 200 lumens insanely low though? Granted you can't ask for a ton at this price but it doesn't sound worth it.

It sounds insanely low but a lot of the mini and pico stuff is 50 or 100. This is a true 200 and while you can't obviously watch it in sunlight, it's surprisingly bright in a room as long as you can close curtains during the day id say.

just let you know aliexpress warranty doesnt exist and you have 15 days to do all your testing. I would avoid aliexpress for anything more than 10 bucks. Last time the 25 bucks porcelain was cracked and support refused to give me any resolution. If you open Paypal dispute, I read ali will disable your account.

I have original Capsule, that I got probably 8 years ago, of course battery barely holds any charge by now. I liked the quality, sound was decent and lumens were enough to watch with curtains shut. But I really hated their OS, which was their proprietary android version and you could install just very limited apps. What do they use nowadays? can you download apps from google app store?

Friend brought one on a camping trip so our kids could watch a movie under the stars and it was solid. Not really something I'd personally plan to do during camping but the projector capability surprised.

how much heat does this generate? I would be using this in a dark room and am curious if it's going to also heat up a room

I bought one and have taken it camping as well. Paired with a cheap camping projector screen you can attach to trees (from Walmart) it works great. Completely touching it in the Adirondacks with a 120" screen watching The Goonies in the middle of the woods, lol.

Agree. I want more light out of my 4,000 lumen Viewsonic (not even in the same category of course) and I can't figure out how 200 could even be useable.

They're completely different use cases. Your ViewSonic is designed to throw a much larger image from much farther away. A 200-lumen battery-powered projector is meant for projecting onto a car door, a sheet while camping, or a small screen in the backyard after dark. It's not trying to replace a home theater.
My old 720p Anker Nebula Capsule Max was only a few hundred lumens, but it was surprisingly enjoyable because it fit anywhere, set up in a minute, ran through a full movie on battery, and could even be powered from a 65W power bank.

The novelty here isn't that it's going to blow you away with its black levels or it's brightness or it's picture quality or hifin sound. Don't get me wrong those things are wrong, but the novelty comes from watching a movie in the middle of nowhere where you don't even have cell service. And doing it with your friends or family instead of just trying to watch it on your phone.

That's like asking why someone would buy a laptop when a desktop is faster. The whole point is that you can take it anywhere. they're simply different tools for different use cases.
