I don't want to start a whole debate here, but 3D printing as a whole was built and pushed forward by open-source communities and passionate makers.Bambu came along and undoubtedly packaged everything in a way that pushed the entire industry into a new era.
However, they've also been increasingly locking things down and going after parts of the open-source and tinkering communities whose efforts helped create the ecosystem they're now benefiting from
.There was a period when nothing on the market could really compete with Bambu, but the industry has since caught up, and there are now several offerings that are just as good in many areas.
Bambu is still the king of ecosystem integration and the walled-garden experience. Everything works cohesively, but it's also very locked down. As for customer service, my personal experience has been only okay, though I've read far too many horror stories from others. Of course, ymmv

ok, so what's the issue with it being "locked down"? I mean, if it works cohesively, then what's the issue? either it's good or it's not. or is there something I'm missing here?

For me it works is not enough. Companies can't just take from everyone and actively going against people whose labor they are selling.
Going against open source is big no for me. Does not sit right with my principles.I love contributing to open source, and I can't be with such company, that's just me. I am speaking with my wallet. I can't support anti consumer companies.
Also being lock down is not very simple, it's not just software, it could be the filament you use. Currently users get warning on app regarding quality if they use third party filament. There is nothing stopping them to completely block them in future. We all see what normal paper printer companies do now.
If these dont bother you, go for it, these are good printers.
