Community Reviews
The Galaxy A16 5G bundle stands out as a low-cost backup phone with a decent camera, 5G, and a full year of Tracfone service that can extend an existing line and eventually unlock the device. The phone is described as solid for the price, with brand new looking units, eSIM support on this bundle, and broad MVNO compatibility. Setup can be finicky, though, with reports of Wi Fi issues, slow fingerprint wake, heavy Samsung bloatware, and only 4GB of RAM. A few units also arrived with activation or update problems, so it feels best suited to light use rather than a main phone.

"AI Overview: The Samsung Galaxy A16 5G (including the Tracfone variant) does not support eSIM. It relies solely on a physical Nano-SIM. If you need an eSIM-capable phone on the Tracfone network, consider upgrading to a model like the Galaxy A35, A54, or an S-series device"
However, after Oregon14 stated that this does have eSIM, I did another search for "Straight Talk Galaxy A16 eSIM" and got this result:
"AI Overview: The Samsung Galaxy A16 5G (available via Straight Talk) features eSIM capabilities. You can choose to activate using a standard physical SIM or go through an instant activation without visiting a store by utilizing the built-in eSIM"
The Straight Talk model should be exactly the same as TracFone. I actually had a Straight Talk model for a couple of months but never checked this as I never planned on keeping that POS. So, I guess people who bought this could confirm. I'm leaning towards it actually having eSIM capability, and the AI needs to work on the "I" a bit more.
