I don't like the fact that you have to place a permanent adhesive on your car. I paid $20 for a similar one that uses a suction cup.

This deal model also has an option for a suction cup with the NEW MODEL selection, but it's $30.

edit: I received it and the $16 one actually does come with a suction cup. There is another problem for some though. It only positions in a way that sits up high. If you're like me and want it to sit on top of the dash and bend down a bit to cool in front of the vent, it doesn't work that way.

The permanent adhesive pad is for attaching it to something not smooth and solid. It is intended to attach to glass or smooth metal and plastics. If your dash has a rough texture to it, that is where the stick-on plate would come in. The suction cup version would need the same add-on plate. I have a Lisen version that works the same.

I have another mount (not wifi charging, but otherwise functionally the same) and it works perfectly for me, adhering to the dash, without the need to apply the adhesive mount. It will come loose every month or two due to excessive heat. But, I use a sun shield in my car whenever parked and even in Texas, that works to keep it cool enough. It's much better to take 10 seconds to reattach it once every month or so than stick something on my dash that may leave a permanent mark. To each their own.
