Screaming deal on a good set of compact brushless tools. This blows away the various brushed tool deals and is more than enough for DIY round the house stuff.

I have the drill and use it often, I went with the higher end triple-hammer BOLT driver though. Metabo HPT (different from German Metabo) Multivolt is a very useful and high value battery platform to be on, especially if you're willing to wait for Lowes daily deals or Acme stacked sales.

Agreed, I bought the drill kit a while back and it has the same build quality if not better than my Makita. The balance is great and I like the size for regular use. I also have the top end 36v drill and it is a beast!

It is a shame that not all the HiKOKI tools are not offered under the Metabo HPT brand in the USA. They have a superb barrel grip jigsaw in 36v.

Great tool, just note that the drill chuck will loosen on the high speed mode if you suddenly stop the trigger. I switched to a Bosch 18v set after getting annoyed with that problem. The drill is a solid high powered device and better than the Bosch 18v brushless that replaced it...minus the chuck issue. It doesn't occur on the lower speed, which is what the workaround is.

In my garage right now building a lumber storage cart, and I realized a second drill would be handy. In for one so I don't have to keep changing out my pocket hole bit.

Great tools. Had them for years and zero complaints. Highly recommended.

Edit: the batteries and chargers [amazon.com] alone are $110.

Metabo hpt and the German metabo are both owned by the same parent company. They've rebranded both companies under the metabo hpt brand as of early 2026.

exactly 6.1 inches, delivering 620 in-lbs of torque, and utilizing an all-metal chuck for the driver. this is hitachi renamed after investor entity / private quity or whatver KKR aquired hitachi tools.... sad aspect.

hitachi did such a nice job engineering their drill driver, with battery mounted on both. apparently its only 0.7 lb heavier than their own compact version of the same thats so called made for tight places but has less torque and plastic chuck... and ends up being .1 inch longer lol.

and it weighs the same as the compact class craftsman brushless v2.0 driver going for 69$

Glad to know other drills do this too. My Chinese kimo drops drill bits all the time this but you get used to it and slowly release the trigger.

In 2017, investment firm KKR acquired the power tool division of Hitachi. Because they could only use the "Hitachi" brand for a limited time, they rebranded the tools as Metabo HPT (Hitachi Power Tools) in the US and Canada, and as HiKOKI in the rest of the world

I got these two in a set that came with the mini recip saw and the oscillating multi tool. I killed the saw by being an idiot, but everything else is going strong. Some of the best tools I own.

I'm getting used to the name Metabo, but hard pass on Hikoki, cause it sounds like some chinesium product you get from DH gate or aliexpress.

Thanks. Purchased it. Have the Bosch 18V drill/driver and wanted to get an impact driver but this kit costs the same with both as well as two batteries. Seems like the drill on this may be a bit better than my Bosch 18V (GSR18V-400B12).

Drill has a major design flaw. When you let go of the trigger, the chuck loses grip of whatever it's holding. Otherwise, awesome drill. Impact is very good, too.
