It seems that the engineer label means that the instead of 1/16", 1/8", 1/4" inch markers, the marks are 1/10" apart. If you only use 1 tape measure, it won't matter, but it will be a real frustration if you always are converting to match a typical tape measure.

Looks like it is dual marked with standard inches then decimal feet

10th of a foot, not 10th of an inch. Used on all construction sites that use land surveying. Or that use civil engineering. Its a must have tool as a land surveyor. Amazing price.

Got it yesterday. The best feature is the extrawide standout. The tape is thick & strong, It easily extends without bending. Seems to come on sale periodically, get it when it drops again, a steal at $4.
