Yes. Swap the account from old to new phone as in the procedure in my post that you quoted. Wait a day or so and then call TF CSR and ask them to swap everything back to your old phone. Phone # and new balance should all xfer back to the old phone. Check your balance first, just in case.

I got this & the seal looks like it was broken on the package, & the protective sleeve on the phone has tears & crinkles on it. Can I exchange this at a local store or do I have to do it online?The phone itself looks new, as well as the USB cable (that's all that's included except the paperwork), but I'd feel much more comfortable with a package that I know hasn't been tampered with in some way.

I had the same issue. I bought this online and box was delivered with plastic seal broken but phone is new with protective sleeve in perfect condition and USB cable as new. But the SIM was inserted and the red letter only had IMEI and SIM card number but no pin information. When tried to activate online it asked for PIN. When I called tracfone they said someone already activated using that pin back in June and asked to return the phone. Two hours wasted with agent but he did seem to try everything possible. I did not see the exchange option online so clicked on return online and now have a bar code if I chose to return to store. Is there a better option out there? TIA... Also I do have an expired tracfone account, tied to an old phone. The one year plan expired july 11. So I guess I lost those minutes.

I had one from Walmart Christmas 24 that I activated last week. Could not activate it online but no problem via IVR.
