I've bought a cheap 55" 4K Hisense I got for the 2018 World Cup... And have been using it as my daily since. Only issue is it can get a little slow with the tons of apps I've installed, but other than that no issues whatsoever

I second this. Bought it as another tv for my crazy 4tv living room it's great. I plan to waych sports so being bright was more important to me than the deep blacks. 4k content looks good. I didn't check sound because u have a sound bar but the Roku software is quick.

That's a pretty broad sweeping and definitive take on a global powerhouse brand that makes products in more categories than I can count. They are Chinese State owned so they aren't going anywhere either (I'm not saying that being owned by the Chinese State is good, just stating a fact). Just like other brands, you get what you pay for. They have extremely competitive budget product pricing but, like many other companies, offer a spectrum of products from budget to premium.
Many newer TV's these days seem to be more and more competitively priced for larger, thinner panels. Unfortunately, this tech just doesn't seem to always be as reliable as the smaller, simpler designs of the past.

In for 2...my brother bought a new house and my Mom is moving to an apartment. This will be some nice house warming gifts for them...neither are very tech savvy so this TV will be easy for them to use.

I have a 2021 U8 Hisense that still has a beautiful picture. It's trickled down to my office space and it has a PC and AppleTV dialed in. It has been quirky with eARC but not an issue for me as I run everything into an AVR and use it strictly as a monitor. I put a 2024 U7 at my parents house and it's been a hit for almost 2 years. Primary viewing is on a LG C5 but I don't hate the Hisense. OLED is waaay ahead of my 2021 U8 but it's been a solid set for us.

I'd say this is worth the price difference and slightly smaller size. The brightness and constant difference should be fairly obvious I think. I'm having trouble finding specs for brightness.

I bought a display model 55" Hisense in 2012 (who even knows how long it was running 24/7 in the store) and it's still going strong. I keep hoping it'll die so I can justify buying a new one.
