Nike's Vaporfly 4 is a carbon plated racing shoe built for half and full marathons, with the biggest payoff at faster paces and a very light feel. The shoe is described as especially useful for race day, speed work, and runners with efficient form, and it can even work for long walks once broken in. The main tradeoffs are that it feels awkward or less efficient at jog pace, is not suited to daily training, and the lightweight build may wear quickly. At this price, it reads as a specialized marathon shoe with limited everyday use.
Vaporfly 4 can feel super comfortable after an initial awkward break-in period for long-distance walking.
Vaporfly 4 can deliver noticeable benefits at faster speeds, including a forward foot roll feel.
Vaporfly 4 can work well for racing and can be used for workouts up to roughly 300 miles.
Vaporfly 4 can be a good option for fall marathon season at the cited price for intermediate to advanced runners.
Vaporfly 4 may feel strange at slower paces and the carbon-plate benefit may not show until around mid-7 minute miles.
Vaporfly 4 can have reduced durability because lightweight construction can trade off against wear.
Vaporfly 4 may not be economical if mileage per pair is limited, so reserving them for speed work or events can help.
Vaporfly 4 can be associated with an ankle stress fracture, leading to avoidance of carbon-plated shoes after recovery.

I'm at about 2-3x a week…all workout days and races. May try these VF4's out. I am down to one fresh pair of VF3's after buying a few pairs on closeouts. Good for racing to 100-150mi but fine for workouts to 300mi (feels soft but not as much pop).
