Even if Costco doesn't have the best pricing, I like that it exists so that there's competition and keeps prices lower for consumers.
Community Reviews
Costco Travel car rentals can pair competitive pricing with a $25 Shop Card, especially when the reservation is already close to the best direct rate. The booking flow is flexible, with no money up front, easy cancel and rebook options, and the price shown matching the final total. Some rentals have beaten direct and Priceline or Alamo quotes by a meaningful margin, and the Shop Card has arrived by email in about two weeks. The main catches are that qualifying vehicle classes matter, some dates only show larger cars, and the promotion can nudge prices higher or fail to beat direct booking after taxes and fees.
