Have a few Nortiv on my Amazon wishlist but haven't pulled the trigger. This made it worthwhile to try. Will be interesting to see how they compare to my Topo and Altra. Don't have EE wide feet or bunions but do find standard width shoes don't always do the trick.
So they arrived today. I am no stranger to anatomic toe boxes. I have three pair of Altra and a pair of topo. I don't require EE width shoes. I also don't have bunions.
The Nortiv are wider than both Altra and Topo. They are wider than my Kinvara Pro in EE.
If you have a normal width forefoot, you will swim in these. They are borderline clown looking, like they are a caricature of anatomic shoes. It's a shame. These could easily be labeled as EE, and they could make a proportionally narrower size for standard D width.
The rest of the fit and finish is on par with Altra. Cushioning feels nice. Can get decent lock down but my forefoot still swims. I wouldn't wear them running for that reason, but for casual wear, they're fine. And for the price, what they give you is great. But most people don't have Hobbit feet, and this is how they're designed.
Would I buy another pair? No. I paid less than $50 for my last pair of Altra on Mercari. They looked new. I'd continue to comb there, posh and ebay for deals on topo and Altra before buying another pair.
Happy to take pics of them side by side with my Topo Phantom and Altra Paradigm if anyone wants to get an idea.
