this is pretty good considering its $70 bucks over the lowest shown at $500 in june 2025, that was last year. but it really determines what you are getting it for. at 4k gaming, theres almost no difference from a ultra 270k+ vs this aside the price is like 40% cheaper, even more if your near a microcenter.

Ive had this since day 1. thankfully Most games dont use the 2nd ccd(it ignores it automatically in windows). But theres a couple of games where you need to use processor lasso to tell the .exe to only use the 8cores 16threads that has 3d vcache. Its a 1 time step for each game that you want to do that. Most games do it automatically through windows. The extra cores meant my computer never froze or struggled to do anything. Full cores, full speed. Im using a 420mm aio cooler tho, but it stays under 72c under max load.

Yes, absolutely! This is the first sale I've seen since its release that brings it below $600 from authorized retailers.

Usually, this hovers around $649 - $669, and might include a free AIO Cooler and/or game. But this sale puts the savings in your pocket, and includes a free AIO Cooler too.

You must mean the regular 9950X, not the 9950X3D. I did a quick check and there was a price drop in June 2025 for the 9950X (non-3D variant).

You may be correct that there is almost no perceivable difference between the standard 9950X and the 270k+. However, for users looking to take advantage of the extra L3 Cache provided by 3D V-Cache, the 9950X3D is superior.

Regarding 4K Gaming, based on my personal experience with my 9950X3D that I've owned since December 2025, the main benefit of running an X3D CPU at 4K is improving the 1% and 0.1% lows. A secondary benefit is boosting performance with FSR/DLSS.
