First GV numbers still work. I ported just now for the A37. I am a cell phone addict but have been in rehab. However a cash back site is giving me $40 plus $40 back and Chase has 15% back so if cb goes through this is a big money maker for me.
Note I did have to go through "identity check" questions prior to order completion. They somehow know my son's age and where I worked 25 years ago. Scary.

Just curious, as it would be risky to sell the phone as unlocked without verifying by opening it
Yeah, should have tried GV. But reports are mixed. So out $8. Anyway , I did Chase and the same cb site which hopefully works. So $46 back basically means free phone if you value the service at nil.
Which US Mobile network were you on, if you were on Light Speed which is TMO , that would explain it. If you were on Warp or Dark Star I would have expected it to work.
If you are on Light Speed , see if you can network transfer to Warp and let it season a day and try again
Would appreciate any details so I can replicate. Thanks.

Did this happen before you paid the $40 while you were submitting first time on initial order page?

Metro sees my US Mobile numbers as belonging to Cingular Wireless. According to Gemini, this is a known bug. Even though my phone number was obtained through USMobile, Metro's system identifies the parent network block as Cingular Wireless which is part of AT&T. When Metro queries the database, it attempts to validate the account format against AT&T Postpaid rules. Because US Mobile uses its own custom account number and PIN structure, Metro's automated validator flags it as a mismatch and throws the generic error screen.
My suspicion is that the carriers are deliberately causing these conflicts to create transfer friction as a anti-competitive tactic. The FCC is very lack on surveilling this industry and its policies on carrier locks and transfers. The current Administration is corporate-captured and completely in the tank for these corporations.
Just want to add that the potential solutions from Gemini, which are sourced from previous forum threads, are a no go. I cannot switch from Dark Star to Dark Star (Verizon) on my US Mobile plan. The plan does not qualify for that feature. The other workaround is to go to a Metro store location but that requires an additional $25 activation fee. That negatively impacts the benefit-cost analysis for this deal. Not just the financial impact but the inconvenience factor. I never want to fall into the Sunk Fallacy rabbit hole. I spent $16 on this deal attempt and I'm moving on. Everyone should take note and learn from this experience. Metro is now on my Black list.

Totally agree.
While it does have problems from time to time but I don't think it;s like they reject everything. I would also mention, I've tried GV many times in the past and GV never worked for me.
For others that are running into limbo after trying to port out, I had a similar situation a year ago. I called Metro Customer service and they were able to push those through so that might be an option.

I don't see how calling Metro would "push" anything through in my situation. Perhaps you're referring to a situation where you were approved and able to complete the checkout process but the transfer process hit a snag afterwards. In my case, I cannot even get to the order execution stage in the checkout process.

Appreciate the clarification.
After contacting US Mobile customer service — multiple times — they were not able to find any record or evidence that Metro even submitted a transfer request for my US Mobile number. So the problem lays with Metro..
