While the other poster may have been thinking of TracFone, Metro definitely has not always been 1 year to unlock. It used to be 6 months to unlock, which made these deals a lot more attractive.
The A37 wins on raw display quality (AMOLED beats LCD for contrast and color), has Samsung's Galaxy AI features (Circle to Search, Object Eraser), Knox security, and a much stronger 6-year OS update commitment — which matters more for something you'll actually keep using daily. The Exynos 1480 and TCL's Dimensity 7300 are roughly comparable performers.
the NXTPAPER's main selling point over it would really only be the eye-comfort display for heavy reading — everything else (camera, chip, longevity) tilts toward t.

It was a welcome deal but it went through, I did choose A36 though so I hope it fits - supposedly the cases are compatible

Only downside is I have to wait a week or two for it
But the Moto Edge 2025 does look a better phone , plan requirement is $65 ,right so $25 more. I am kind of engrained in the Samsung ecosystem but would be nice to try out a Motorola

Solution?
Edited to add: I am removing a lot of the bloatware and other than that, I am perfectly happy with the SG A37 as a backup phone. I cannot seem to ever quit my Motorola love if for nothing else than the quick shake and flip motion access to the camera, flashlight, etc.
If you think it's worth waiting a year for it to unlock—or you're happy using it on Wi-Fi in the meantime—it could be a worthwhile buy.
