I can confirm a Tello number is NOT eligible (it's a T-Mobile MVNO so unsurprising) and instead was quoted the "existing customer deal" of $60 plan + $50 phone.
But for $40 this is an excellent deal on a midrange phone, for sub-budget pricing. The only spec I really dislike is the measly 128 GB of storage, which is hardly adequate these days. It sounds like a lot, but when the OS takes 15-30 GB, photos/videos another 30-40 GB, Apps another 60 GB, you start to run out quickly. I hate how tons of apps these days seem to require 0.5-1 GB of storage. I still think phone companies and Scamsung getting rid of MicroSD on nearly all their phones is a moneygrab to upsell storage and squeeze consumers.

1) Make sure your GV number is linked to a physical number, and verify it.
2) Unlock your GV number for port out on the website/app. You will have to pay $3
3) In GV voicemail settings, make sure "call to listen" is selected and then set a voicemail pin.
4) for Metro eligiblity checker, use the ten digit GV number as your account number.
Use your GV PIN as your transfer/port-out PIN.
Use the billing zip code on your GV/Google Account (like the one you used to pay the $3, or where you live) as your Zip Code.
