This is a budget Galaxy A37 5G deal that stands out for its midrange specs, long software support, and strong value as a backup or travel phone. The 6.7 inch AMOLED display, 5,000 mAh battery, IP68 rating, and six years of updates make it appealing, and it also gets praise for emulation and decent camera performance. The main drawbacks are the 6GB RAM, no microSD slot, and reports of noticeable One UI lag. Metro's 365 day unlock lock and frequent port in and checkout problems are the biggest caveats.

Forget about phones from Tracfone and Metro unless you are interested in 1-year locked.
Luckily I got in on the prepaid TracFone, total wireless, straight talk 60 day unlock deals back in 2023- 2025. I was clueless any of that even existed. Did it with a moto g 5g, iPhone se3 and iPhone 13 and got them unlocked pretty easily to use with tmobile later on

you should definitely try my trick if you are planning to use it on T-mobile. you have nothing to lose anyway. you can always flash back to metro firmware after 1 year for unlock.
Thanks Lou2004. I will receive the phone today. Please advise: First open the box, put an active t-mobile physical sim in A37, boot it up, assuming it connects with t-mobile for call and data. Then activate it just one time with Metro so one year later it can be unlocked. My question is, before activating the eSIM with Metro, should I turn off (remove) the t-mobile sim first or leave it inside intact? TIA.,

Good question.
My way is activate T-Mobile sim first. confirm it works. Flash Xaa firmware. Keep T-Mobile sim on. Turn on wifi. Activate MetroPCS. I lost T-Mobile signal. I restart the phone T-Mobile sim signal came back. I have 6 free lines from T-Mobile so unlock or not is not important to me. Just a bonus if it gets unlocked after 1 year.

If you're not flashing you can just activate T-Mobile sim (keep sim inside), turn on wifi, activate MetroPCS. If T-Mobile signal lost, restart the phone. Toggle MetroPCS sim off. Toggle T-Mobile sim off and on. Just play with the sim setting.
As of today. My T-Mobile sim still works.

Dang missed out on online cashback which was about $40 as the order hit a snag at the last checkout step and asked me to call in. Everything worked including a number I purchased on ebay (Thanks Lou) but not sure why had to complete the order over the phone.

The plan email lists $45 and not $40 btw so not sure what thats about but its too late lol.

How easy will this be to order the Tablet deal now that a phone line has been placed?

Can anyone who received this phone confirm if activation is required to start actually using the phone? I was able to get this deal working, but really only want the phone as a wifi only device. I have no need for the service and want to retain my number I used to port over to get the deal. If I can just remove sim and use the phone as is, I wouldn't have to deal with a future port again to park my number.

I activated A37 and A11 in Metro first. When I insert t-mobile sim to A37, shows the signal for a few minutes, then disabled. But when I insert t-mobile sim to A11, data works, can send out message, but cannot receive. Is it weired?

Check the APN on A11. Try reset network in reset setting.
On A37. Keep T-Mobile sim in, turn in on in sim manager. Turn off Metro esim. See if that works. If not try a full reset. Don't worry, metro esim will not erased.

BTW, I am unable to create an account as it looks like I need the phone to receive the pin etc.....I did chat and the agent was willing to process the tablets while the phone is in transit but ran into a snag with sending the pin via email saying that it takes a few hours after email is verified.

Will keep you posted if that works (A37 should be here tomorrow in hand). Weird that I cannot create account with my personal info....

You're acting too quick. You need to receive the first device first. Everything you do will require a pin from the phone.

Haha, I do agree! Its just that I was trying to create an account and was chatting and the rep on chat lead me down the rabbit hole by offering to activate while on chat and even offered to place the tablet order (x2) on her own.

I went along with it until the above snag as one less thing to worry about ordering online.

On A37, after reset only t-mobile data work, not message.

Won't hurt to try. Disable metro esim first. Keep T-Mobile sim on. Factory reset. Don't click erase esim during reset. Please post result.

Just a side note: I have two metro Moto stylus 2025 from September last year are Unlocked today from my drawer.

I just did factory reset. The same. When I turn off metro esim, t-mobile SIM's call and message become grey, data is solid. But actually no data, 5G sign disappeared. When I turn back on metro esim, then all become solid. But only t-mobile data work. I tried a few times. This is the final result. At least t-mobile data work. Not too bad.
