This is a budget Galaxy A37 5G deal that stands out for its midrange specs, long software support, and strong value as a backup or travel phone. The 6.7 inch AMOLED display, 5,000 mAh battery, IP68 rating, and six years of updates make it appealing, and it also gets praise for emulation and decent camera performance. The main drawbacks are the 6GB RAM, no microSD slot, and reports of noticeable One UI lag. Metro's 365 day unlock lock and frequent port in and checkout problems are the biggest caveats.

Good question.
My way is activate T-Mobile sim first. confirm it works. Flash Xaa firmware. Keep T-Mobile sim on. Turn on wifi. Activate MetroPCS. I lost T-Mobile signal. I restart the phone T-Mobile sim signal came back. I have 6 free lines from T-Mobile so unlock or not is not important to me. Just a bonus if it gets unlocked after 1 year.

If you're not flashing you can just activate T-Mobile sim (keep sim inside), turn on wifi, activate MetroPCS. If T-Mobile signal lost, restart the phone. Toggle MetroPCS sim off. Toggle T-Mobile sim off and on. Just play with the sim setting.
As of today. My T-Mobile sim still works.
It didn't work. I got the phone, pop in active tmo physical sim, booted up, no call or data, even though APN was correct for tmo. Having it working on tmo is optional to me, so I just activated it on Metro.

Back when the unlock was 60days, i would always buy one of these as a spare phone, now that it's 365 days, its not worth it.
Frown
thing is at least it unlocks while not active other carriers make it so need active service as well. like really? that made these completely useless what ever. mint mobile with a pixel 10 deal was so much better as a result

Did you activate the Metro eSim prior to putting in the Tmo sim?

I am having the same issue and as Lou said, I should have taken it easy. The Tmo sim wont work on the phone (not calls, or anything) and ony the Metro eSim is active sadly.

I need it for Tmobile so sucks for me.

Doesn't work for A37. Throw error with T-Mobile SIM. It may be due to a different software version. What's your A37 software baseband version? Or manufacture date? Mine is baseband A376USQS3AZF1, date 08/06/2026.

Thanks for the update. I guess it's not universal for every t mobile post paid user. I thought I did something wrong on the steps.

GF has the S25 and the A36 (same camera as A37) photos are indistinguishable between the two. Seriously nice images and miles ahead of any Moto.

I have a few StraightTalk (Verizon Value Brand, Prepaid) numbers from 16e promo which I'll let go for $5 AGC/ea or $8 for 2.
You'll receive random TX/FL phone number, Account number, PIN, Zip Code. Lower rep, newer accounts send code first.
Because of the low value I won't be able to provide much "customer service". The pins expire a few days after requesting them, plan to use it before the end of this week. I'll be pasting information directly from the device, so no chance of errors. In case of the usual Metro ordering issues, I can't help with those.

I did with Spectrum number. Don't worry about the 4 days. You'll be ok. From my understanding, as long you start the port process (which you enter at metro site during order) it will remain valid untill port is finalized.

While these phone are cheap, be ready they are slow, I mean really slow.
I haven't actually used this phone but its processor has pretty decent performance in benchmarks. Over 1 million on Antutu benchmark 11, which is a good bit faster than the Motorola Edge or Stylus.

Sure, it's slow compared to flagship phones that score 2-3 million or more, but that's why those phones cost hundreds of dollars and you rarely see deals on them. This should be a solid midrange phone.

I've been having trouble with porting in from xfinity mobile for this deal.

Metro site errors and says "Your number transfer was unsuccessful. Please go back and check for any errors in the information entered."

The metro site also think this is a verizon number, not sure if that matters. Calling in, the metro rep said the name on my account is incorrect, even though it is correct. So I'm not sure how to resolve this issue to do this deal.
