Open incognito window/private browsing
Go to https://www.xfinity.com/learn/deals/internet
Put in your address, and select "I am moving here as a new customer"
Add the deal into the shopping cart. Go through the equipment/add-on page as you see fit
At the checkout step it will ask you to create an Xfinity ID. You will see "Already have an Xfinity ID? Sign in". Click Sign In and login with your current Xfinity account
Verify the deal is still showing in your cart and complete the checkout process
Once you are done you will see there are TWO account numbers under your Xfinity account
Download the App, login, select the newly created account number and activate the modem (even if you are using your own modem)
Once done, return any equipment if you have under the first account back to Xfinity. And then cancel the first account
They still use XB7/8 for Xfinity EPON Fiber service but they install Nokia NKFN11AEL 10gb Ethernet ONT and gateway is only used as router for Wifi in ethernet mode instead of docsis. They won't let you use own router since they encrypt and won't work with anything else.
My question is - are the upload speeds better in this offer so it may be worth my while to get it (in the name of my spouse)?
Or still just do it anyway since I will get 1 more year of guaranteed pricing (although at 1 gbps, which doesn't really matter since I am not using 1.2 gbps)? Any downside?
Called the helpline and spent 53 minutes. Agent said me paying $110/month for 1.5Gigs is already a great deal since its $40 cheaper than retail (lucky me!). Compared to T-Mobile, Astound, AT&T etc and he says best he can do is $85/month for 1Gig. (others are providing this for $30-45/month, similar no contract terms).
I asked if above promotion is available and he claims no, its been expired and the website has not been updated as yet. I read out "offer valid through August 24,2026" and after putting me on hold for 15 minutes he says this offer is only valid if you subscribe through a Xfinity store...
