Where is this information coming from?

So they are selling used products with full manufacturer 3 year warranties?
I bought one. It was used. I didn't want a used amp, regardless of any warranty.

so you posted this
"Just a heads up, these units are used"

So you assumed yours was used and that Monoprice was shipping everyone a used one?

Ok?!.....Wink

I bought one, new, sounds pretty good, way better than Fosi . I have wiim pro and Ultra, I prefer the Ultra for just about every reason but it cost a little more. Even the mini with an old Musical Fidelity dac is pretty sweet into this amp.

Just a heads up, these units are used. Half price for used might be acceptable for some, monoprice not being up front about it is a deal breaker for me.
That's dumb.

Monoprice does occasionally have "b-stock" and "open box" sales; but this is not one of them.

Says monoprice : "Hook up is a breeze by utilizing either the unbalanced RCA inputs or unbalanced XLR inputs make it easy to connect to any receiver or pre/pro."
I was asking the person who said the WiiM Amp Pro was a better amp, his source.

I somewhat agree. If you have a 90-100+ watt AVR, this adds very little sonic benefit in real world use.You are way better off spending the $200 on upgrading speaker(s), room treatments/changes, room correction software, etc.I would even say a $100 mic and learn how to use REW.Those would make an exponentially better sonic improvement over this ime! I agree, those unbalanced XLRs to loudspeakers aren't really beneficial. TBH they would need to continue to the loudspeakers, very few have the option. They do that with subwoofer "speakers" for a reason & make more sense there. Not surprised you received a used model.
What exactly is a 90 to 100+ watt AVR? One that actually puts out 90 to 100 W on all channels? Who has one of those?

Nice amp for this price and probably actually more powerful in real world numbers than the majority of AVR's you see on slick deals
4 ohm stable/ capable and XLR connections as well
Will this be an upgrade on an Onkyo RZ-30?

Onkyo RZ70 is the least expensive AVR I know of that will do that ...actually more than that...with 7 channels driven

https://www.bing.com/videos/river...&FORM=VIRE

That along with some very good Sinad results in its preamp section

In a 4ohm load..probably more capable than the RZ30

But honestly, if you are driving to reference levels of sound with harder to drive speakers, on a consistent basis, I would look else where than this amp

The RZ70..is the least expensive AVR I can think of...that will handle difficult loads at high consistent SPL's

I have personally owned its sisters units..Pioneer LX805 and Integra 8.4, which share the same amp/power supply

Very capable units and I have high expectations

I currently have the RZ30 pushing Martin Logan Foundation C2's and it just seems disappointing especially at louder levels. I am cheap and want better sound. The RZ30 is new so I do not want to buy the RZ70.

Assuming nothing is functionally wrong

You may want to look into a good multichannel amp...especially if you want long periods of louder volumes

I previously had an aventage a-740 in power amp mode (0db) driving my Elac unifi ub5s. It always sounded pretty good. I have a WiiM ultra and a zd3 DAC/preamp.

I bought the Monolith and replaced the Yamaha avr. It sounds SO much better- Gemini thinks that the Yamaha just didn't have the oomph to handle the 4 ohm Elacs correctly. The monolith is easily the best $200 I've spent on audio gear in a while.

I had also tried two chi fi amps (fosi v3 monos and the topping mini300). Both sounded ok, but the monos burnt out in like 3 months and the topping sounded clean but the soundstage just wasn't there.

For $200 this amp was a steal. 🤷 ♂️ solid build, big toroidal transformer… I'm happy.

Do you have a recommendation? I only run this set up in 3.1, glorified soundbar or 2.1 when listening to music.
