I have not done this before as my line is with Fi. You user status does not depend on the line being paused so you should be fine to unpause before activating the phone. Once you activate though, you can't pause for 120 days. Maybe someone who ordered on a pause line can confirm.

For what its worth I'm on unlimited standard and seeing similar pricing for buying new device, so you don't "have" to be on premium. I see $1299 for Ultra 8 256gb or $649 ($50 more than what premium I guess) for flip 8.

imo not worth it. I've had a flip 5 for 3 years now and had to get it replaced under warranty and the new one is starting to show the same screen problems (eventually "cracks" and goes entirely black). I baby my phones and zero other damage. Rumors are flip 8 is gonna be the last flip phone as well. Every person I've met in the wild with a fold phone has had to replace it under warranty as well.

I love the flips for their size and weight but I'll be moving back to a standard phone eventually and just keep my flip as a gym mp3 (podcast/youtube music) player.

Deal is not great imo, no free memory upgrade is a huge step back. I'd guess black friday will see much better prices.

During the S26 Ultra promo earlier this year, Fi showed the deal to some who signed up with flexible plan right away. If that's the case, I strongly suggest you place the order after the first bill is generated which is 2-3 days after opening the account. Also there is a new user unmentionable counter which will count down from 30, I strongly suggest you activate the phone after the counter hits 0, it will ensure phone activation happened after 21 days even if you placed the order now. Fi deals are easiest to do among the carrier deals because everything is automated and there is no unlocking involved. Fi support on the other hand is incompetent so they can't fix anything if things go south but if you follow the steps properly you should be good. 0. Get unmentionable for Fi, it will give you $60 off the service. Also the person referring you will get $60. I am out of it BTW. DM me if you can't find a code. 1. First open a Fi account with flexible plan with a gmail address with the unmentionable code . Don't do any new user promotions etc. The plan cost is $20 per month for unlimited talk and text. The data is $10 per GB but you won't be using this plan for anything. So don't port your number, just do the plan with a new number from Fi. You can download the Fi app on your phone and then download an eSIM and activate the service on any phone you have lying around. 2. Be on the plan for 21 days or so. On 22nd day or about you can check in the Fi app under the shop tab and it will show existing user deals like $650 off S26U, $550 off P10 Pro XL etc. 3. Order the phone and when the phone comes set it up with the same Gmail address, download Fi app and the activate the service on the phone. It will move the service from the previous phone. 4. In the Fi app, the billing and then in progress you will see a tracker which would look something like $650 off and what steps the completed. It will also show how many of 120 days are left. 5. Wait 24 hours from activation for that counter to go down by 1. 6. At this point you can delete Fi app and install your SIM and start using this phone with it. I would suggest to just disable the eSIM or make it secondary etc. 7. After 120 days, the whole in progress section will disappear and you are good to cancel the line with Fi. 8. I suggest you pause the line instead and keep pausing for 90 days until next year for S27U etc. Using this deal few are upgrading to latest ultras every year by paying $0 including me by selling the last ultra locally for the same amount. Your total cost will be discounted phone price plus $120 for service minus $60.
I recently finished pixel 10 pro deal with google fi and cancelled service two days ago but I am looking that 26ultra deal but it's not showing up for me now . Can you suggest how to get that ? Do I need to reactivate service or any bother way ?

You will need to reactivate service and then it should show up in 24 hours or so.

Edit: Using the same email address as before as Fi thinks you are an existing user. Also choose flexible plan etc as mentioned in the comment.

Even though the deal will have an expiration date, since there is not much special about this deal (ie no free memory upgrade) , I bet deal will be ongoing . Just like there is still a deal for the s26 family now

Also, I have had a few accounts over the years. They used to not enforce the 21 days, now they do. For the first 21 days with a new account you will likely only see 24 month deals which you should not do unless you love Fi and want them to be your primary carrier. But over 24 months you will likely more than pay for the discount compared to cheaper alternatives for service like Visible, US Mobile , Mint etc
