FYI to anyone thinking about buying this for yourself only - keeping the 2nd one for when the 1st one is dead - know that both batteries are sealed from the factory and start deteriorating from that point, regardless of whether you use them.

What's better? Many of us prefer not to use iOS devices.

Honestly for what it is, this is a good deal. I still use Tile for my lowest priority things, or double up with it for the more important stuff.

That said, it's all but useless for most things in 2026. Even a generic airtag compatible device without local directional finding is better because the Find My network is so huge. Tile still has some users but it's shrinking every day.

I use both android and iOS but I get not wanting to buy into it, so I get where you're coming from. It's pretty undeniable that it's the best tool for the job here though. At this point I'd go for a Google or Samsung tag before I went for a new Tile simply because Tile's network requires an opt in while the others don't. This means that they're going to keep shrinking in terms of coverage area/density while the others are only going to grow.

When the battery dies after 2 months, don't be surprised if Tile tells you "too bad, you should have bought one with a fresher battery." They did it to me.

I run air tags and tile tracker and Samsung tracker in my vehicle to see which one better. I find my tile tracker updates more often than airtag. It will update faster and actually move along in near real time when on the freeway. I think because you can have tile and life360 to help track the tracker which works on both apple and Android. I understand you should have better results with airtag as nearly 50% of the population uses apple in one way or another. But the airtag just doesn't update as often as my tile tracker. Even my dog's collar has both and i can find him sooner with my tile. It's possibly because tile trackers update when they are near Ring devices as well, unless they stopped doing that, I haven't heard any updates in quite a while.
Just my experience

That sucks, I have had them replace 2 of my devices now over the past 6 years. And I do not subscribe to their subscription model. Maybe try again? I think I had to show I bought it within the 1 yr warranty or so.
