FYI to anyone thinking about buying this for yourself only - keeping the 2nd one for when the 1st one is dead - know that both batteries are sealed from the factory and start deteriorating from that point, regardless of whether you use them.

Why would anyone use a Tile in 2026?

What's better? Many of us prefer not to use iOS devices.

Honestly for what it is, this is a good deal. I still use Tile for my lowest priority things, or double up with it for the more important stuff.

That said, it's all but useless for most things in 2026. Even a generic airtag compatible device without local directional finding is better because the Find My network is so huge. Tile still has some users but it's shrinking every day.

I use both android and iOS but I get not wanting to buy into it, so I get where you're coming from. It's pretty undeniable that it's the best tool for the job here though. At this point I'd go for a Google or Samsung tag before I went for a new Tile simply because Tile's network requires an opt in while the others don't. This means that they're going to keep shrinking in terms of coverage area/density while the others are only going to grow.

When the battery dies after 2 months, don't be surprised if Tile tells you "too bad, you should have bought one with a fresher battery." They did it to me.
