yowza, the prices for these six-year-old heavily used machines has skyrocketed. Just a few months ago, before the "NEO" was launched, you could nab an M1 "Air" w/ base specs for $300 or less.
For $380, 100% absolutely NOT worth it. You're better off putting that money into a "NEO" or a current-gen "Air". At least you'd be getting something with an actual warranty -- and hopefully the "NEO" will be supported for quite a few more years. There's not much hope that the M1 will be supported for too much longer.
a neo is $600 now with student ddiscount new so this is just another option. its competitive, though the support thing who knows how long itll be, but walmart was selling these new last year so it'll probably be a few years. an m1 is still fast enough for 90% of tasks

Not certain that m1 will not be supported for long

They are still selling brand new ones for 600$ on the same site. Apple care and all. I think these will be available for a long time as apple owns the microchip. After the lithography is cast they will continue to manufacture and sell them as long as it's profitable. And it looks like the market up is at least 100%.

a new macbook air is $1300 lmao.
I know these prices suck but your recommendation makes even less sense
I don't know about $380 seems a little high, for that price I'd definitely want to know a) who 'refurbed' it and how & b) how's the battery.
I will say though that I've used this exact M1 model almost every day since 2020 and it still works great for me. I almost replaced it with an M5, but with the price increases I think I'll just keep chugging along until there is something I want to do that it gives me issues with.

I would have liked to know where you were finding an M1 air for less than 300$ lol. In the state of Oregon for example, I can guarantee you can go on Facebook marketplace or craigslist, you can check anytime in the last couple of years and you would've seen maybe the cheapest price of $450, and that's with stickers all over it, scratches, and probably someone's spilled coffee lol

Yea that's what they are partially saying. They are saying you used to be able to get them cheaper. This is honestly still a good value for this class. They are selling chromebooks for 200$ that are a tenth as powerful. Im getting these for my kids. Low risk and it a couple years they can get new ones.

Thank you for your comment. My PC was stolen this past weekend. I was doing research on M1 MacBook Air vs MacBook Neo after the price increases. I was leaning towards the M1 MacBook Air, but the point you made about software support and warranty convinced me to spend a little more on the Neo until I build another PC
