Supposedly these greenworks 80v batteries are the same as the kobalt 80v batteries, except you have to slightly modify the plastic guides to make them fit in Kobalt tools Kobalt discontinued all of their 80v stuff likely due to bad batteries. The battery died on my 80v kobalt blower and I had to RMA it. Now the battery died again and the replacements are more than I paid for the blower. Unless greenworks has redesigned their 80v batteries, I would avoid.

Have many 80V GW tools, to include blower, push mower, riding mower, chainsaw, edger, weed wacker, and pole saw. Batteries have been rock solid for 3-plus years. No indication that they are losing capacity at.

Same. I even bought a greenworks backpack blower to use my kobalt batteries. I do have one that is getting bad, but it's 5 years old. Have 5 others.

I've had 80v Greenworks tools for years, with 6 batteries or so, I've had only one go bad, and 2 chargers (which I thought were the batteries going bad at first). The chargers were not expensive to replace. Definitely worth the ease of use and good quality tools.

I would probably prefer the zero turn mower, instead of this one though. I already have a Ryobi which is almost the exact same form factor as this one that I have converted from lead acid to lifepo4, but I wish I had a zero turn (wasn't an option back then).

I have multiple 2ah 80v batteries that are all going strong, and one that's 8 years old! But I also had a 4ah 80v battery completely die. Luckily there was still 1 month in the 2 year warranty period and they sent me a replacement.

Only semi related but anyone considering a mower like this can save a significant amount of money with a very easy DIY.

Look in your area on FB Marketplace for a Ryobi RM480 or 480EX. They typical sell for $500 and sometimes as low as $300 or even free. You can sometimes even find the Zero Turns for $500. People get rid of them because the Lead Acid batteries Ryobi put in there die really fast and replacing them costs a ton.

But you can take out those SLA batteries and drop in a LiFePO4 battery, like a DC House or EcoWorthy 48v 100Ah battery with charger for under $900 (if you have a smaller yard,then a 50Ah is plenty, saving even more money). Its a super easy swap. If you've ever changed a car battery, you're as qualified as you need to be for this. The hardest part is pulling out the battery tray with those Lead batteries in it. Those turds are HEAVY.

Alright, back to the deal, not trying to derail the thread, just trying to provide a cheaper option for interested folks
