I prefer the soft side on the Platinum series, but this is a pretty decent deal, at least for the gray one. I would also add that per some commenters on the last TravelPro woot sale, many said that TravelPro will not honor any warranty on luggage that comes from woot (not sure how they would prove it though).

Woot also has the 20" version, which some folks say works fine on European budget airlines that are strict about carry-on sizes. The 21" is probably too big and you might have to check it.

You do know airlines check carry ons, if necessary right? If you're unfortunate enough to be last group to board or the FAs claim they have no space, your bags are going to get checked. Also to note, if you're flying on regional jets like rjs, or crjs... you will hate check your bags as the overhead cabins aren't large enough to accommodate most normal sized carry ons.

Also never check your carry on. It will last forever. The baggage handlers are often subcontractors or just bad employees. They don't care about your bag at all.

For anyone wondering I was able to register my bag for the warranty. Doesn't guarantee they will honor it but it's a good first step.

I took another look at mine and it's also cracked on all 4 corners up top. I wonder what the heck happened? My shipping box was fine.

Did anyone find the style number to register for the warranty at TravelPro? I looked for a tag inside, but other than the designed in the USA, there is no style number where there should be.
