I believe that's the technique they're trying to replicate here.
Something like this https://m.youtube.com/shorts/tctXgGutwGE
This can be done with a normal rice cooker, the key is cooling the rice after cooking it with a small amount of coconut oil. There's medical studies that back this method up. The calories don't disappear from the food, but become resistant to digestion AFAIK.

This is a large rice and grain cooker that stands out for its carb reducing mode and steam basket, which appear to drain starch water during cooking. The manual calls the inner pot a ceramic coated non stick cooking pot, with a stainless steel steam basket. Real world use points to rice that cooks well without turning mushy, and the steam basket also works for reheating curries and buns without drying them out. The main tradeoff is size, since it takes real counter or storage space, and the carb reduction claim itself is hard to measure.
Rice cooks wanting less mushy grains, because the carb-reducing mode drains starchy water and leaves the rice less overwatered.
Families reheating curries or buns, because the steam basket keeps food moist instead of drying it out like a microwave.
Home cooks who need a large rice cooker, because it cooks well but takes up substantial counter or storage space.
Parents making daily rice, because the cooker has held up through three years of regular use.
Buyers expecting a dramatic carb-cutting effect, because the glycemic impact may be small and hard to measure.
Shoppers with limited counter or cabinet space, because the cooker is huge and needs room to store or leave out.
People who want a simple set-and-forget rice cooker, because this sits between basic on-off models and fuzzy-logic cookers.
Shoppers who need a compact cooker for small kitchens, because the unit is very large.

I've been using a GreenPan one for a bit. I don't taste a difference in the resulting rice so why not have it be healthier.
And it's legit.
