I believe this deal is just like the deal for the Moto Pad 2026.
You have to be an existing customer of Metro by T-Mobile.

You can add a new tablet plan ($20 minimum monthly fee) and get the Galaxy Tab A11+ for $49.99.

I did the Moto 2026 Pad deal with Metro by Mobile earlier this year. I wa \s able to cancel the plan by calling customer service before getting billed for a 2nd month.

The Galaxy Tab A11+ 5G is being treated as the stronger Samsung option for people who want a budget tablet with better processor performance and long software support. It is also described as a solid upgrade from the A9+ 5G, with working Metro and T Mobile activation, 5G UC, and a cleaner path to later unlock or firmware changes. The main tradeoff is the 1080p display and 6 GB of RAM versus the Moto Pad 2026, which has a sharper screen and more memory. Deal availability also appears unstable, with the advertised price sometimes showing higher or going out of stock.

The A11+ has better performance than the A9+. So it depends if you're happy with the A9+ or feel its too slow.
I also have the Moto Pad 2026 and its a very solid tablet. It has a higher resolution (2k) screen than the A11+
I am waiting for Metro to ship me an A37 right now. So I just see $99. I wonder if I click the activate button if it will then show me the deals but not sure if I should wait until Ihave the phone in hand before I click activate

My bad
Which would you consider the better deal, as the Moto pad was also recently the same price. Looks like moto has better screen and more ram but a slower processor.

Probably about the same after the samsung is bogged down with all the bloatware, no?

There used to be a work around to activate and get other deals before having the phone in hand, but recently I have been unable to do it - Activating an online account requires code from SMS sent to new phone. If you find a work around, feel free to share - in the same boat.

Yeah, clicked the activate button and it sent an sms to a phone that is arriving tomorrow or Thursday

Yes, the 2026 Motorola Pad has a 2k resolution screen, which is better in terms of resolution and pixel ensity.

If you're used to using a 4k or 2k monitor, you will be able to tell the difference between a 2k screen (Moto Pad 2026) and a HD 1080p screen (Galaxy A11+). But if also depends on what you plan to use the tablet for, of course.

From what I've read the A11+ has been performance and processing speed due to a superior processor. Even though the Moto Pad has 8 GB of RAM and the Samsung A11+ only has 6 GB of RAM>

I asked Claude to help me with the comparison and it pointed out that the Samsung will get years and years of free software updates. The Moto pad will not.
I went with the A11+ because I already have the Moto Pad 2026 from a previous deal (also for $50 + $20 monthly plan, and cancelled the plan immediately).

Do they ever offer free ones anymore? When I got the A9+ it was $0 plus the $20 line fee

I would give the edge to the Motorola Moto Pad. It has the sharper 11-inch 2.5K display, 8 GB RAM, and the Dimensity 6300, while the Samsung Tab is stuck at 1920 x 1200 and 6 GB RAM. Besides, I personally don't like Samsung's downgraded UI filled with bloatware and cut down of features for its budget series of devices - intentionally cutting features to promote sales for expensive options in their product line. YMMV

Is it worth it flipping the A9+ 5G which I got from a similar deal back in the day and is now unlocked to get this locked tablet? Assuming it will be locked for a year, though I dont use it for cellular anywayActually , looking back the A9+ was $20 (free with $20 plan)This was back when I think unlock was 60 days. My first boot was with a T-Mobile sim and now everytime I boot I get the T-Mobile flash screen. It did not unlock , and I threw it in a drawer and forgot about it for close to a year. Took it out and network unlock from settings worked.
I got the A9+ previously too and this model looks like it's worth upgrading to

There are tradeoffs on both. And Samsung has the better processor. It is listed with another name in the specs but it virually the same as MediaTek Dimensity 7300 which is far superior to the Motorola's processor

So Motorola wins on ram and resolution, the Samsung wins on processor, software updates, slightly faster charging speed. Samsung also willl likely be easier ti resell if thats your thing

Pretty much a toss up if you ask me . If they were priced differently Id probably go with the cheaper one

I went with the Samsung A11+ after playing around with the Moto Pad 2026 (the same as the IdeaPad Tab from Lenovo) at Best Buy. Samsung will provide years of upgrades to this compared to a couple of upgrades from Moto. Actually I felt no obvious difference in screen, and the 2 GB gap will be compensated by a better processor. Moto is a good tablet, but my experience with A9+ was excellent (remove all the nonsensical stuff). Moto has almost clean Android.

Ive done this by calling customer service. I wasn't able to find an option to cancel online. The rep tried to stop me from canceling in various ways but I went ahead
you can't just stop the payment like phone line?

Received this tablet today and inserted my T-Mobile voice line via physical SIM and everything seems to work and receive 5G UC signal. Also updated the software to the latest version as well.

For reference, I am the old Simple Choice NA 4GB plan.

When I turned on and activated the tablet, I did close all the prompts on activating the metro eSIM though. It will be replacing my Galaxy Tab A9+ 5G, which will be unlocked in a few days.

So are you not activating the Metro sim at all ? I thought you have to activate it to start the 365 day countdown

I have an A9+ 5G and inserted a t-mo data sim on first boot but I forget if I activated the Metro sim on it afterwards. It still followed Metro's unlock policy and not T-Mobile's

You can activate without actually using it. Just click activation on the email. If you want 100% to unlock after 1 year then insert the metro sim and use it for an hour. Then take it out and insert T-Mobile sim. Do a factory reset then it will remove all metro apps. For me, I change the csc to xaa or xau. No bloatwares and no T-Mobile/metro boot up screen.

So you changed csc using SamFw? Did you just let it do OTA updates?
