The 4TB 990 EVO Plus stands out as a very fast, cool running NVMe for big storage upgrades, gaming, and everyday use. It is described as a strong fit for thin laptops and external enclosures, and HMB based performance is said to be close to DRAM drives for normal workloads while using less power and heat. The main caveat is that it lacks onboard DRAM, so sustained writes and PS5 use may not be ideal. The deal price also drew attention because 4TB SSD pricing has been far higher lately, making this feel like a rare capacity play.

Interesting question...but I don't know. Delivered by Amazon. Tracking info doesn't show source and neither does the box label.
Label would show it coded, but my question was really what state/region you're in. Unless Amazon uses UPS, FedEx, USPS, and it's delivered same or next day then it's safe bet its from a very local DC. Merely curious if the makeup scam is widespread or concentrated. Got my package next day, manufactured Oct 2025, NYC region

Hdd, but ssd was becoming a things for certain uses before they started to cost more than gold. 2.5" ssd >1tb is more stupid expensive than top pcie5 nvme.

They seem willing to make it right, or at least some reported they have.

Most of the supply for next year is already contractually purchased, so I'm not super confident prices are changing next year unless the change is prices going up.
Looks like all of the 2027 dram supply has been purchased. Be ready for more pricing pain next year.https://www.gamespot.com/articles...-sell-out/

Mine was meant to be delivered yesterday, but now just states delayed on the order status page. Assuming it's not going to arrive.

Mine "arrived" today. Samsung box inside the shipping envelope was empty. Now Amazon has to do an investigation, at which point they offered a refund rather replacement (though dif reps told me different things).

Awesome, I got both drives I ordered. Brand new in factory sealed package, 10/2025 prodution date. Now I can run my 8TB LVM, which otherwise would cost over $2K for a 8TB NVMe.

Mine arrived yesterday - 10/2025 mfg date.

Looking at install... I haven't opened a PC for a bit. Do these come with/need a thermal pad?

They tend to run on the cool side. It would depend on your workload. Everyday use it does not need any cooling. If you are going to hammer it all day with max workload cooling would help.,

Thank you! I don't anticipate giving it too much of a workload. Now to find an m.2 screw to secure it....
