Exactly this. Everything private equity buys gets wrecked. Prices go up and value goes down. They squeeze every dollar they can out of the company and then sell it.

They are overhyped to begin with but since they got bought by private equity its been pretty much miD

Whataburger still gets credit for its cheeseburgers and for easy app ordering that can keep food hot until pickup. The deal angle also stands out because coupons and survey redemptions are where the value seems to be now, especially for repeat free burger offers. The main knocks are declining quality and consistency, with some locations described as hit or miss, buns that taste off, and prices that feel less worthwhile after ownership changes. It reads like a chain that can still hit when the location is right, but the value depends heavily on the deal and the store.

They don't sell it, they over leverage it and claim bankruptcy. Its private equity removal.

As a Native Texan, who also worked at WB in HS. Almost two decades ago. The company and brand aren't the same. The quality is terrible now. Especially, after the families kids sold off their majority shares to PE. Now you really can only find value from coupons, with Whataburger. I'd rather just get in-n-out now, which is crazy to say. In n outs burgers got smaller, price went up and fries are still trash.

No idea, why you're being downvoted. This is the truth lol. It's bad now. I knew they started falling off, when they did experimental stuff like Chili and wings lol

Better than mcds and bk. Personally after trying sonic, Steak 'n Shake, Culver's, Jack in the box, what a burger, I now know mcds and bk is the most boring and plain fast food places around
