The some of the noticeable differences are:
iPhone 12 starts with 64GB storage, while iPhone 13 has a minimum 128GB.
iPhone 12 battery size 2815 mAh battery), while iPhone 13 is 3227 mAh.
iPhone 13 reaches 800 nits max outdoor brightness, compared to 625 nits on the iPhone 12.
iPhone 13 faster processor, therefore will get more software & security updates.
iPhone 13 has a larger main wide camera sensor to pull in more light than iPhone 12.

Yes, I expected that if you paid for a whole year of data, this should be unlocked on day one as well. Like what is the point of making us wait at this point?

Why are some concerned about unlocking a phone that won't get any updates during/after the year of usage. It's really a good disposable iphone(even at 64gb) with a very good plan for a very good price..that's all!

Need it for a kids phone, but they would think they are connected to wifi, or send imesages that use data, and burn thought the data plan in half the year. Then we would be stuck buying more data.

when my daughters turned 12 I got them each a phone with a few hundred minutes a month and 1-2GB of data. I told them any overages and they pay. Amazing how they never went over. Good lesson for life.

I think it's $155 with port-in and one month of service. And that people were trading two phones in to Apple that are locked for a year and getting one 17e unlocked. Or you could do autopay another 3 months and get a $100 prepaid Mastercard, but the spend, before you get any money back (in the form of a gift card), is at least $300 after you get a number to port and consider the cost of sales tax on the device.
