Absolutely useless as a physical phone. Android 11, no OS or security updates for years already. Do not buy for intent to actually use the phone, will be unusable even after removing bloatware and most apps won't install on that old of an OS anymore. Use this only to get service days/minutes. Though note that for $60 you can get just the service card/pin separately and not go through the hassle and e-waste of these.

Also note that while harvesting USUALLY works, often times they block you and you lose the minutes / gb, and they only extend the service days. I have found that I have to wait until 60 days before the end of a previous phone purchase (e.g. month 10 of 12 using it) to transfer over to the new phone prevents this from happening, otherwise it just adds service days and I lose all the minutes/texts/gb. And Tracfone systems and support keep going downhill often requiring you to call or chat for an hour to fix simple issues of it not honoring things even when purchased directly on their own web site.

Note: This is my experience for a "home" phone that replaced landline for cheap continued service and linkage to in-house cordless phones, not a "real" carry with you cell phone--I'd never use these crappy low end phones for anything more than a phone call or random MFA text. Most need rebooting every few weeks to free up consumed resources just sitting there (yes, non-smart Flip phones are way better that way than these old slow bloated smart phones)
You're right that the phone is absolute trash. And what you said about harvesting has happened to me. They suddenly turned my balance to zero for text/minutes/data. I spent tons of time with them and they gave me all sorts of BS reasons and just wasted time. One said there is a note on the account that "please let the customer know this plan is no longer available" and didn't give me any real reason. Another one kept asking "have you tried to change your number?" "Have you tried to deactivate your account?" and then claimed I had used 7000 minutes in July alone even though my call log showed no usage for months. I asked how it's possible to use 7000 minutes when the plan had only 1000 in the very beginning and no comprehensible reasons. I eventually gave up. But your experience that continually using the phone and harvesting for at least 60 days before attempting harvesting is interesting. I'll try that. Thank you and repped for a very nice pointer.

Tracfone only good if you don't have any issues. Calling them just a waste of time. Keep going circle.

Yes. Everyone, pay attention. If you have problems, throw away your phone and save your time. This company is useless. Consider this product something that has no customer support. If it works for you, great. If not, oh well, it's only $25 for one phone (crappiest on the planet) with one year of service.

IMO a couple of more interesting items they have on sale on their eBay store are

https://www.ebay.com/itm/287503823650 - $60 365 day plan. This is probably most useful for unlocking any TF phone after 1 year of activation.

https://www.ebay.com/itm/287505854589 - Moto G Stylus 5G 2024 w/ 1 year plan, maybe the best phone per dollar device they have on sale that comes with a future unlock date

For the phone itself, the A03 is not terribly useful as a daily driver. Maybe only for calls and texts. A phone of last resort. Apps will be laggy. Used one myself a few years back.
Yes, thanks. TF offers for time.text/data refill seem pretty expensive compared to this

Might work as a 'burner phone' when you travel through airports if you don't want them snooping through your actual phone, right?

Can you request a phone number be assigned to you or do you have to port in one?

All phones require 1 year of service before they will unlock. This is for all carriers under the "verizon" brand. So if you use these phones to harvest and then use your original phone. These phones will not unlock. However, they will work on any verizon carrier like straightalk.

Not quite. 60 or fewer days in the original plan days remaining on the last activated phone bundle. Not 60 days of use.

Once I had a phone with a defect in the touch screen that developed and was about 75 days into service. I naturally had another qvc or hsn one from a deal, when we ported over it added 365 days but no mins or text or data. Chat and call did not reclaim them.

A year later on another line (and account) I tried to switch from a slow tcl polhone (about same speed as these Samsung crap) and it was only 5.5 months in and it did the same thing, loss of everything except days when adding.

After that I have made sure i only moved after 10 months of use. I don't know what there cutoff is. All subsequent have got me purchased amounts.

Now, buying added service online for others in their account, especially the $50 add on 1 yr plan... That's a debacle as well and the chat or phone agents admit that it does not apply correctly. But at least you have proof but takes half an hour to resolve.

Tracfone sucks if it wasn't so cheap for backup devices.

I suppose the $60 plan is good to unlock, but here you get 2X the plan for less money, so doesn't seem like a good idea. You could transfer both plans in this deal over to whichever phone you want to unlock and get 3000 text and mins for $50, not sure why you wouldn't just do that over the $60 plan (except for the ease of application).

Can I buy this bundle but not activate it until February 2027? (my current Tracfone min/data doesn't expire until then)
Why not activate/stack it now?

Use the existing phone and text TRANSFER to 611611, it will confirm and ask for new phone IMEI, once complete check balances on account. After about 10-15 minutes, do the same on the new phone via text and it will move back to the original phone with combined balances. Just did it yesterday.
will the first step of this approach suffice for moving balance and getting it added to new plan balance from old phone to new phone?

Does anyone know which shipping company does Verizon Value use to ship their packages?
