I also own two pairs of the 1.0's, one 5.0 and two Ultraboost 21's. I love my 1.0's for knocking around in, but they should not be mentioned in the same breath as the 5x. These are by FAR the most comfortable.
If you want high performance adidas running shoes, go buy the Adizero Adios Pro Evo 3 ($500), Adizero Adios Pro 4 ($360), the Prime X Strung 3.0 ($300) or even the Evo SL's ($150), but to call these trash is reckless. People come on this site and ask questions and expect/deserve respectable answers.
Getting these for less than $60?!?!?! A steal.

I would never run in these. I owned one pair of these and just for casual walking, the lack of support was jarring. Constantly under threat of rolling an ankle as the upper is absurdly soft and loose and does not keep your foot on the shoe. If I would do anything remotely considered an athletic motion, my foot would slide off the sole while still in the shoe as the upper stretched.
Insane to market it as a running shoe. I know most runners do not run in any Ultraboost, myself included. I have always loved the Ultraboost but will never buy another 5X, they're trash.
Oh, the bottom of the shoe began falling apart within 6 weeks as well. The back sole just peeled right up. I hope this isn't the future of the Ultraboost line.
I wouldn't pay $15 for Ultraboost 5X. They're literal trash.
The good: Very light. They remove all the padding around what a normal shoe has. The tread durable, albeit a very thin tire rubber.
The bad: No padding around your ankle and top of the hindfoot where the tongue meets your foot. I have to spend so much time tightening the laces all the way to the top of my ankle joint to just the right amount so my foot doesn't lift off the shoe and not too tight that it impedes circulation or causes pressure sores and itchiness. It takes me 30 seconds to put on a regular shoe; it takes me minutes to tie Adidas. As such, there can be way more ankle instability than other shoes.
Not my favorite.
I love my Nike Vomeros. They hug my feet and I've run many marathons on them.

I saw the 19's mentioned too. I really liked those (had two pairs). Snug fit, but not uncomfortable I thought. The upper has so much stretch and give (same thing for the Ultraboost Uncaged). Similar to the 5x.
BTW, I find the 5x to run dead-on true to size. I do not need to go up a half size like 1.0's
One last thing, if these get dirty just throw them in the wash machine (won't see the dirt on the black ones as much obviously) and they look brand new. I wash all of mine all the time.

Everyone's feet are a different so YMMV.
Here is my experience with 3 Adidas running shoes:
Ultraboost 5X - Most comfortable; it feels like I am wearing a sock walking on a god damn cloud. I wear them walking around and on slower paced, easy runs. I wear size 11 in these (vs 11.5 in Evo and Boston).
Evo SL - I wear these on longer runs. They have better energy return and are still really comfortable; my go to daily trainer.
Boston 13 - Faster/tempo runs. These feel better the faster I go; the carbon rods work best when you are landing mid-forefoot. Least comfortable, but not uncomfortable (they feel good when I am running 7 min mile pace or faster).
Ultraboost 5X has a nice niche as a super comfortable shoe I can walk all day around the city in, and still use for easy mileage.
