This Husky rechargeable tripod work light stands out for its detachable light, magnetic base, and surprisingly useful tripod, which also has a standard mount and adjustable height for area lighting or under car work. The light gets praise for task use, camping, backyard gatherings, and even video calls, and the tripod alone is often treated as worth the clearance price. The main caveats are that the 800 lumen claim feels overstated, charging can be finicky or slow on older stock, and the tripod can be unstable or fragile over time. A handy clearance find if the form factor fits your setup.

The tripod is a tad over 28in tall when fully extended. Which is close to a perfect height for area lights but maybe not ideal for work lights. It serves my purposes perfectly.
Thank you very much👍 for the Information. Appreciate it !

USB c charges at a higher voltage?I always wondered why some cables seemed to work and others didn't.
USB C with power delivery capability can vary around up to like 20V

Man everyone is praising the tripods, but I have had the opposite experience. Both of my tripods fell apart after just a few months of use. The first one within two months and the other about 4 months. Both times the plastic pieces inside the tripod that keep the telescopic parts in place ended up crumbling and now the rods don't hold tension or hold themselves in. Pretty much makes the telescoping part useless.

Also the fact you have to bump it to get the tripod to open is kind of annoying. Sometimes it useful, but mostly annoying. The lights themselves are great and I will go look for a few more at my local store, but I hold little love for the tripods.

YMMV: Mine broke after 2 months of light use and the tripod was always wonky. I'm guessing these are on clearance because of too many returns.

On ones I just bought, there is no need to "bump it" to fold out the tripod legs. They just snap in or out. But your experience with tripod parts breakage is a little troubling, for sure. I do like the ability to unscrew the light from the tripod, and use the built-in magnets on its base. Handy to have when working under a car, at least for me.

Just be aware that the charging port is a USB C but it won't charge on a regular USB C cable. The light won't negotiate with a regular USB C port so you have to use a USB C to USB A charging cable to force a step down in voltage. Supposedly lights produced this year will not have this limitation but old stock will.
Not true. I'm charging mine right now with C to C.

Again... the ones produced this year supposedly do not have this limitation but anyone getting older stock will.

I've been using one of these regularly for about 9 months for working on my car. For this price it's a great buy. It's good for working under the car but really annoying for working under the hood because the tripod isn't stable for anything other than a flat surface. Also, I've had a few painful nips when closing the tripod. It's pretty slow to charge so if you use it a lot, it might be a good idea to buy 2 and alternate using and charging.
Can it be used while plugged in and a dead battery?

I have had one for a while. Dont always need it or use it but when I do it comes in clutch. The Tripod and adjustability is great. The magnet and battery life is solid. Under $20 its a great buy.

$7.95 at a store near me..!
Same for me.
Picked up 4.
I noticed in the home Depot app there was even an option to click to see local in store clearance price and was able to see that price before.
before finding the item on the isle and bay listed in the app.

I bought this last time, it broke after two weeks and I returned it.

It was handy while it worked and battery life wasn't that good.
