Tello's promo stands out as a low-cost second line with unlimited talk and text, 50GB of high-speed data, hotspot use, and access to 5G SA. The newer rollover feature is a big upgrade, with unused high-speed data rolling forward up to 100GB total when it applies. Physical SIMs can wait up to 30 days to activate, while eSIM service starts immediately. The main catches are the short three month promo window, possible extra fees, and rollover not carrying over if the plan is changed to a fixed data tier.

Does anyone know what signal that company Tello uses? 🤔 T-Mobile, Verizon, or which one?
They use T-mobile towers

Anyone using Tello able to put their sim into locked T-mobile phones?
This should work, any TMO locked device should work on any of its MNVOs

Is mint $15 unlimited for a whole year?
Yes plus they charge you something like $25 fee so ($15 x 12) + $25 fee. I did 4 lines with them pretty good so far coming from ATT.

Tello is great! It's too bad they don't do $15/mo plan with 15-20Gb without silly promotions that expire in 3 months. I'd move 4-6 lines over to it.
They do 10 GB for $15/month... I guess there's no auto rollover for that plan though. Bummer.

Just got an email as well, they are now doing roll-over data, so any amount you don't use, up to the full 50GB will roll-over to the next month. You can have a total of 100GB to use max per month. 👍🏻
Their website says auto roll-over only applies to the unlimited plan. That's a bummer!!!

I use Tello for my wife's samsung lte watch, but the 2GB data and unlimited minutes plan for $10/month. It works well for her, as I can still call her watch phone number, if her phone is dead or in the very rare occasion her phone has no verizon signal, but her watch does have a signal for tello (t-mobile).

If you only use 2GB/mo, you should downgrade and save some money. And if you manually renew a day early, you can still roll unused data.
Is there rollover for the 2GB plan or any plan other than the unlimited? I also barely use 2GB but im on Boost mobile paying $15/month for 5GB with unlimited min and hotspot

Yes, you can rollover the data on any of the non-unlimited plans by renewing manually a day early. I set a google calendar reminder so I get an email reminding me to renew.

What I would do in your case: sign up for the promo in this deal for $15/mo and get the SIM or eSIM free. Use a referral code when creating an account to get $10 in Tello dollars. It probably makes the most sense to use the three months of the promo, but you can downgrade at any time, if you prefer to change plans after the first month.

For month 4, I would select the $15/10GB plan. Assuming your regular usage, you will have 8GB left. On day 29, manually renew and select the $10/2GB plan and apply your $10 in Tello dollars making month 5 free. After rolling, you should be back up to 10GB for that month and you will have spent $60 for 5 months of service. Then I would continue renewing the $10 plan on day 29. If you end up using more data than normal, you can always go back to the $15 plan for one month, then drop back down to $10 after that.

You can delay activation 30 days with a physical SIM, but if you order an eSIM the month starts right away. Tello automatically gives you a new number until you port, so you could overlap plans if you order the eSIM on 8/24. Or order the physical SIM and convert to eSIM later.

so if I downgrade to the 2gb plan I get to keep the leftovers from 50gb as rollover and from then I can renew one day early? Also don't need voice, my understanding is I can use paygo and the balance stays alive? I was going to join the 2gb plan straight but since this waives the SIM fee and gives me a nice pot of data thinking of using this deal instead

No, unfortunately, the unlimited data will not roll over if you switch to a fixed amount of data in the second month. But yes, worth starting with unlimited for the free SIM, then in month 2, use your Tello dollars from a referral to get the $10/2GB plan for free. If you don't use the full 2GB, you can roll over whatever is left with a manual renewal for the third month. And you could downgrade even further to 2GB/no minutes for $6 if you really don't need any ability to call. Or if you want to build a pot of data, do a larger plan in month 3.

Edit: tried to message you, but get this: haydeecm has exceeded their stored private messages quota and cannot accept further messages until they clear some space.

I use two esim, one esim is unlimited call and txt for $30 a year, find this on ebay. My 2nd esim is 3GB data only for $5 a month. Way cheaper.
