Leaving the country on the 21st. Delivery option shows delivery on the 20th. Would pick up be faster? How much? If it was delayed I could just skip picking it up and get a credit for canceled order.

The official release date is the 20th, so that's the soonest anyone will be able to pick up the phone from any retailer. Ordering now is a pre-order for the 20th.

I deeply respect how Best Buy thrived as brick and mortar and overcame Bezon to be where it's at today (unlike Circuit City and CompUsa). That said, at least during the pre-order rush, every year, dollar for dollar, BB has not been able to match Google due to the latter's additional discounts in the form of Pixel promo and credit back through Google One.

This year, I see that Best Buy is again aggressively at par with Google in everything, from store credit ($200) to trade in value (P9Pro is the same @500; not sure of other models). But it is still $100, $150, or $250 more than what I would pay with Google; if you weren't lucky with those Pixel email codes, then yes, BB is the way to go.

On the brighter side, you can walk into a BB store, show them your trade in device in person instead of having to trade in online and hope things go smoothly at La Vergne, TN. That's there.

Overall, this year, if you're upgrading, Google store deal is better, even though the 11 series prices/upgrades are laughable at this point.

It's not even close. Unless Google fixes their subpar Tensor chips, there's no competition against Samsung. Because Samsung completely blows Pixels out of the water in terms of sheer performance, ecosystem, etc.

I'm in the same situation so I ordered pickup in-store. The great thing about doing this way is you get your trade-in completed on the spot - no mailing in the device which happens when buying from Google.
