MSRP $1400. No DP 2.1

GPU and monitor manufacturers are playing a sick game making triple monitor setups as annoying as possible.

mainly the ports on this one imo are driving up the cost. also, you won't find an OLED at this resolution for this price.

Dell will be releasing a tandem OLED 5k2k 39" for $1100 soon. A 700 ish OLED ultrawide will likely only be 1440p, not the same price point.

Also wondering whats new vs the "old" model.
edit: did a little digging...

The older model LS40FG75DENXZA, currently $550 though the EPP thing, has "Odyssey" branding and is targeted at gamers.
This newer model LS40H850TANXZA, $700 through the EPP thing, has "ViewFinity" branding and is targeted at office/productivty focused users.

Built around the same 5k2k 39.6" 1000R VA panel. The ViewFinity has Thunderbolt 5 connectivity with 140w power delivery and supports daisy-chaining. It also has an integrated KVM switch and LAN port, essentially making it able to act as a single cable docking station. It also has built in speakers. Note some reviews are saying the thing is not (yet?) playing nicely with Macs and TB5.

The Odyssey has the RGB light ring on the back that uses their CoreSync tech to match the screen colors. Has faster response time, higher refresh rate, and higher HDR peak brightness but none by a large margin.

USB C power delivery, TB5, daisy-chaining, KVM switch + LAN port, and speakers. Refresh rate and brightness a bit lower. Response time a bit slower. Doesn't have the syncing RGB color ring on the back. Kind of an office version of the Odyssey. Maybe color accuracy has a higher ceiling on this one too but not really well-versed on all the jargon there.

If my aging 27 inch acer monitor with a dp pass through dies, I will freak tf out trying to fix my set up.

It's still $699.99 if you have an EPP/EDU account
