I can only speak for my old Galaxy Tab S7 FE with 4GB of RAM when I say this, but... I've never had any problems based on RAM. I use it for movies and comic book / magazine reader mostly, but also some gaming and web browsing. It's never complained about any game I've thrown at it.
I'd say it depends on what you are going to use it for. High-end gaming? Probably go higher. But this is a $150 tablet, so what do you expect? Basic browsing and movies? You'll probably be fine unless this unit is a lot less optimized than my old Samsung.
This Lenovo Idea Tab is positioned as a budget 11 inch tablet for streaming, reading, and basic browsing, with a sharp 2.5K display, decent speakers, and good battery life for travel or all day use. The included pen and case add value, and the screen size is praised for full screen video and security monitor use. The main concern is the 4GB memory, which is described as slow for multitasking, YouTube, and heavier apps, with some reports of freezing or needing restarts. It looks best suited to light use rather than demanding workloads.
People using a tablet for Netflix, email, and web browsing, because basic apps run smoothly and battery life is good for plane trips.
For basic browsing and streaming, 4GB can be usable, but several reports say it becomes slow or choppy once you add heavier multitasking or longer video sessions. If you want smoother performance for YouTube, app switching, or more demanding use, 8GB is the safer choice.
Yes, it can run 24/7 as a security monitor and handle full-screen video well, with one setup kept plugged in and battery managed around 40-60% for health. It may need a reboot every few weeks and occasional hard-restart button holds to recover from freezes.
Yes, it can use a microSD card for extra storage. That makes it easier to keep media, comics, or offline files on the tablet without relying only on the built-in 128GB.

I thought you can only speak for your S7?? You should have stopped there.. What you dont realize is the S7 is Samsungs flagship tablet, they're paired with the best processor at that time. RAM isnt the only thing that makes tablets go. Your tablet was likely coupled with the fastest hard drive at that time as well.. You cant just look at the amount of RAM something has and say OK, YEA should work fine!
Like you said, just stick to reviewing your Tab S7, you're going to cause a lot of returns and disappointment for those that dont know any better.. thats not cool
I've owned two, maybe three Lenovo tablets over the years and in my opinion they don't age well. Compared to Samsung tablets they always end up feeling sluggish after a few android updates. Even at end of (android) update life, my Samsung tablets are still snappy. The Lenovos just become unbearable/unusable. Just my experience.

Haha, that's a lot of hate for such a minor comment.
If you want to be like that, then I'll play along just this once.
No, the FE was not paired with the best processor at the time. FE versions have a lesser processor than their standard equivalent. S7 standard was better, S7+ was the best. FE is their mid-range version.
I didn't say "This tablet is OK". I said people jump on the bandwagon and say "Anything with only 4GB of RAM is bad". That's untrue based on my personal experience. Not EVERYTHING with 4GB of RAM is bad. Point out where in my comment I said "This will work fine."
Tablets don't have hard drives. They use flash storage.(Yeah, I'm being a jerk to match your tone.)
Do you have personal experience with this tablet to say that it DOESN'T work well? If not, then your comment is no more valuable than mine.
