the full price is $360 on their website however people have reported being offered a 'deal' to stay, however not at $180.

Trick is to go back and forth every year between cheap annual offers, some work involved with the porting and what not, but definitely worth the savings.

There are many deals posted currently on SD, as mentioned Google Fi, also Total Wireless, Visible, Red Pocket, Lyca and some others.

My personal take is, I only try to do the 12 month offers. getting a $10-15 a month for 3 months deal may be nice, but to keep dealing with port in and port outs and glitches that can arise from starting a new carrier more than 1x a year is something I have no interest in messing with.

I am currently on MINT, my year cell plan ends in early December, so I too will be shopping around then for a deal if mint won't renew me at $180 for the year. But I have no complaints about their service, been very reliable and solid whereever I've used the phone.

I've seen some references that you can buy the three-month plan and then extend 12 months after that. I can't find any real confirmation on this. Am I understanding wrong? Seems like if you can get 15 months at $15 per month that would be the best deal.

I m not 100% but I think they are selling those plan that came with a phone deal. They must be keeping a phone and selling a plan

I had mint and it was hot garbage. Useless customer service and scammy promises. I bought an "international plan" that was guaranteed to work in the Dominican Republic, and guess who got stranded in the Dominican Republic when their phone had no service? When I talked to CS after the fact, they wouldn't even refund the cost of the plan. Stay far, far away from mint.

The normal pricing when I signed up was $15/month or $10/month I think as a promo for 3 months for the 6gb plan. You can pre-purchase 12 months for $15/month for 6GB of high speed data as an existing customer (what I'm offered). This deal is unlimited high speed data for 15/month for new customers.

The only "extending" is just paying for another 12 months.

MInt likes to brand itself as unlimited, but it's not the real deal. 128k snail speeds after 50gig (easily surpassed within a couple weeks or less)

Oh, I do the same, just wanted to highlight that they make the port out, unnecessarily, more difficult. I went from Mint to Visible and I'll go back when I need to renew

I have an extra phone that's going on the second year of service with Mint. The first was $180 for the first year ($15/mo). Without really asking when I renewed they gave a discount so it ended up being like $140 something for another year. So it ends up being about $12 per month. YMMV on the discount after the discount on the first year, not sure with what frequency those are given out.
